karizma engine knocking sound...

    karizma engine knocking sound...

    guys i m anush.. so far i have done 21,200kms in karizma (2006).. i gave my bike for general service at 20,500 kms in HH service centre in pondy.. after servcing my bike, i started hearing knocking sound from the engine... i drove with tat sound for around 600 kms.. and i got worried and went to local mechanic and when he checked the engine oil, it was totally gone (the oil was changed at 20,500 and it was replaced with herohonda engine oil) and he replaced the engine oil to castrol 4t engine and he told tat der r chances of fading of the sound, bt the sound didnt go.. and again i went to him, he told tat my engine bearing might have been worn out due to bad oil.. (note: that knocking sounds fades of when the engines becomes heat)..after that i adjusted the valve, after that when i do cold start der is no engine sound and after running for sometime, i m getting the sound again, and if the engine gets heated up again, den the engine sound fades away.... plz suggest me with some ideas for my issue... i m very worried abt my bike..

    i wanted to change my bike z air filter to k&n air filters..plz suggest me which model of k&n air filter suites best for karizma and i m planning to change my spark plug to ogk irridum spark plug.. plz suggest me with ur ideas nd help me with my trouble in the bike..

      I ride a Karizma as well and have done about 33,000kms. I had the same problem and the mechanic that I used to go to, dint really help much. Then went to another mechanic he said that some cable had to be changed from the inside, dont remember the term he used and the problem was solved. Then on he has become my trusted mechanic.
      Shall ask him about the same and will let you know, that is if you havent been able to resolve it already?

        i think its sound from your bikes timming chain tensioner i had karizma and driven it for 25000 kms and got timming chain tensioner changed five times in guarrantee .sound is almost similar to knocking .go to herohonda service centre and they will rectify it .and karizmas are prone to this problem.

          to mr:harishsangwan: sir if possible, please ask your mechanic and let me know the problem that my bike is undergoing now.. i really worried about my bike's knocking sound which i hear it from the engine..

            to mr: oil bruner: sir, how much would it cost to change the time tensioner, because, i am under post warranty and i brought my bike in 2006..

              you said your mechanic had changed the oil again. check the level of oil and post.

                hi friends.. i went to herohonda showroom and asked the service engineer to check the problem of my bike's engine.. he told me that i have to replace my bike engine's rocker arm head and rod, cam tensioner and bush rod.. and i asked him about the availability of the spares, he told that it will take another 15-20days for the spares to come.. i will update u guys about the bike engine s problem, after repairing it..

                  HI fellow XBHPINS,

                  i belive my post below refers to the similar problem you faced ..please go through it ..

                  I recently gave my 2007 karizma r to my local hero ASC . few of my problems faced in the bike were engine sound (more like tak tak and increases after engine gets hot ),gear shift hard, pickup and a bit of chain sound. It took nearly 3 hours and i was sitting in the customer lounge for the same time ,since i wanted to make sure the bike got all its problems rectified unlike the last time experience in where i gave the bike and got a call to receive the bike and found out many problems weren't even touched nor resolved....

                  but this time it was not to be like the old experience. immediately i found a drastic change in the engine round , and was simply brand new engine sound. the service center guys told he tightend the top valves as they were loose . he also changed my gear shift arm (the one we use to shift gear ) ,clutch discs and chain set.. he told he also tuned my carburetor . i was seriously happy .

                  but it was during this way to my home i found this strange sound .. when ever i came across a speed breaker i slowed down and as i crossed over the speed breaker and as i rise my bike i hear this annoying sound 'ting ting ting ..'(very metallic ) from the engine and as the rpm gets ok for the gear it vanishes.. well i can too relate it to the sound that comes out of many bikes during a low rpm drag on high gears ... but the sound from i bike i feel i quite heavy ...

                  need your suggestions and help guys . i live in Hyderabad can any one please tell me any famous mechanic too.
