  • Battery prob.

    hi, Friends
I've converted my bike(pulsar 150 dts-i) to all DC with the help of abhi's Thread (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/desi-bik...ic-all-dc.html)
I'm using 35w stock halogen and installed LEDs in speedo & tacho meter,
made LED Tail Light, installed LEDs in pilot lamps as well,
now all the lights are working fine.
but I've observed that the battery is getting drained a bit,
whenever i don't use my bike for 8-9 hours..
    what could be the reason????

    plz reply asap....

    Battery Problem Approved
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

battery is getting drained when you DON'T use the bike ???

check the level of electrolyte in the battery...

why don't you post the charging voltages across the revv range !!

Yes, Battery is getting drained when i don't use the bike for longer period of time....but whenever i start my bike for the first time i use kick start without fail... and yes electrolyte level is proper in fact recently i charged the battery from EXIDE service center...
i don't have a Multimeter but soon i'll manage for it and will post the charging voltages across the revv range..

you must be using DC power on your old battery,if its old then change the battery to Amaron Pro biker is an awesome battery got it for my old P-150, morning start no issue, always start with E-starter in single touch it comes with 2.5 years replacement and 2.5 year repair warranty total of 5 years,no water top ups...for life long go for it...

and 1 more thing that you need to find out with the multimeter, i.e if your connections of the hand made rr are perfect..
try to find out if the bike is sucking up battery if the ignition is off or not, you can do this by checking the amps..

if it is, then there's some problem with the wiring.

yes, i doubt the same thing, but how can i check the amps?
i mean i'll have to check when the ignition is OFF??

I think there is no problem with your battery. Try swapping it with a friend and trying out his battery on your bike and yours on his. This way you'll get to troubleshoot perfectly as to where the problem lies: the bike or the battery.Do let us know.

even i don't think there's any problem with your battery..

                            grab a multimeter.
set it up in amp mode.

disconnect the +ve terminal of the battery, and place the multimeter between the battery and the wire, multimeter's black point to the battery, red one to the wire that you disconnected and turn on the ignition key..
is should say -0.89 amps or so, but when you turn OFF your ignition key it should be 0.

                            check and let us know..

                            by the way.
where are you from in mumbai ?
