Guys, I am having similar problem with my battery too. I ride a Karizma, the very first model that had come out. Its take me at least 15mins to kick start the bike, the battery takes time to recharge but then doesnt hold the charge long enough. I have to go through the same routine everyday
I got the battery charged a few weeks back and everything was fine, but not for long. Came across this thread and decided to give the battery for charging at a dedicated battery shop and he said theres not enough liquid. He also checked the voltage and it way showing 8.56..what does this mean? I am a complete noob when it comes to battery and electrical stuff.

try checking out your bike's RR unit.... may be it's faulty... ask your mechanic to check it out...i had similar problem and because of which i had to lose my old battery..

Got the battery charged then it was showing as 12v, but when I tried self start it dint work. Had to kick start, which was a pain man. Then went to another battery guy and told him about the problem. He connected some meter kinda thing to the terminal, something that puts the battery on load and noticed that the volt dropped below 12v. He then checked the same during self start and noticed the volt dropping to about 9v. He confirmed that the battery has to be changed.
Now comes the question about which battery to buy?
He quoted me 1350 for Amco and about 1600 for Exide one. But then both come with 15months warranty. What do you guys say?

go for amaron pro bike rider battery..

you'll get 30 months of replacement warranty and another 30 months of exchanging to the new one with good discount..

the best part is that you don't need to re-fill anything..
its sealed type and requires no service..

i have upgraded my TVS fiero battery from 2.5amps amco battery to 9 amps amaron battery..

          to power up dual hid's...

this battery works like a charm.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

Lot of people are talking about this Amaron Pro Biker battery here. But then theres only 2.5a, 5a, 9a batteries and I dont think a 9amp will fit in my Karizma. At least not without a mod.
Also, I was told that its expensive too. How much? Google search returns some complains about the battery too, any idea about that?

              its a great battery...

i am using it and works awesome..
by the way, how much amps of battery is karizma currently holding??

if i can fit a 9 amp in place of 2.5 amps, then for you modifying the brackets won't be a bigger problem...

Currently it has an 7amp battery. Could you tell me the cost of a 9amp battery?

OT: You were talking about HID in your previous post, could you tell me more about it. I am clueless about any sort of accessories or mods. All I know is to ride

until and unless the battery is 12 volts it is not a problem for your bike's electricals...

amaron pro bike rider 9 amp one comes in alpha and beta series.
battery is very good, charges quicker than exide (which is supposed to be the best) and no electrolyte filling issues...
even the local mechs say that it is the best 2 wheeler battery..

i haven't used much batteries until now, but once i had this, i never needed to face any problems

mine is alpha series and cost me around 1894/-
                    beta series cost 200 - 250 less.
everything is same between both the batteries...
except that warranty and pro exchange is for 60 months in alpha series and 48 months in beta series...

i have done one of the most difficult lighting mod out here hence i know a lot about battery and wiring and electricals..
i was facing battery issues initially as i had converted my fiero to all dc, as soon as all the issues were sorted, battery worked wonderfully.

in my opinion, switch to higher amps, 9 amps is well and good as karizma is all DC and charging is excellent to power up 9 amps battery..

hid can be lighted even with a 5 amp battery..
in some cases even a 2.5 amp battery can light up hid's , but its strictly not recommended...

if its a single hid you are looking for, stay with 5 amps, if 2 or more go for 9 amps..

@ts, sorry to hack these links into your thread, but these are just my hid mods that i had done..

this link is the setup of a projector and reflector inside stock reflector of fiero f2..

this link is both the high beam and low beam hid in action..

Must be a boon during cold starts too then.

I thought it would be over 2.5k...the price seems to be good. Will give it a serious thought. The warranty period is the best part. But then I should also consider its availability.

Will have to go through some Karizma mods before I think of buying it.

you don't need to do any mods to fit this battery, apart from very slight modification of the brackets which hold the battery...

the battery is available everywhere in the city, i am not sure about remote areas...

low beam is comfortable, and one can look at it without any problems..
high beam is a pain for others...

i keep only low beam on in the city, and both of them on on pitch dark highways, it can beat any car headlamps... trust me...

the best part is that even after all this, i face absolutely NO battery issues..

Thanks for your inputs mate. I am kinda tempted to have the HID too
I will have to do quite a lot of reading about projectors, reflectors to understand it completely. First things first, should get a battery replaced. Then maybe an headlamp upgrade later.
