    Problem in Handle

    Hi!
    A few days ago my bike developed a weird problem.
    I had gone over a very big pothole(as big as a mini crater) at around the speed of 60 kmph.Since then the ride quality whenever I go over any slightest bump is horrible.There's some "KHAD-KHAD" sound.
    I thought it must be some problem in the suspension but it seemed to be fine when is pressed it.
    So I took it to the mechanic.He told me that some balls of the handle(clip on)(i understood as something similar to ball-bearings in a sliding window) have got spoilt so i should replace them.
    Then i realised that even turning radius and quality of turning has become bad.
    My question is is his diagnosis of the problem right and what should be the right charge for it
    And if not could you please tell me what could be the problem

      I guess your mechanic is referring to the ball bearings that connect the handle assembly to the chassis of the bike. The ball bearings and their holders together would cost around 100 Rs. (around 5 Rs. for the ball bearings). He might charge you another 50 Rs. for replacing them.

        Yeah he was pointing out to that place only.I 'll try to get a good price for it
        And is it necessary to go for original Bajaj part?or any other is okay?

          Yaar, the mechanic has told you the right thing, yes the bearing set-up connecting the fork assembly with the chassis has to be replaced - That is called a RAZOR unit comprising of Bearing Balls and cone set. This unit helps in free steering and upholding the fork assembly without any shake.

          While replacing I prefer you to buy O.E Spare and ask your mechanic to fix it.
          The cost of the O.E spare might be around Rs. 250.00 and depending on the Mechanic the charges may be paid from Rs. 100.00 - 150.00 but not more than that.
