  • problem in my fazer maybe ?

When I keep my bike in neutral and give it acceleration between 3k to 4k, I hear some phat phat noise from silencer....at no other rpm it usually happens, and its not continuous
    maybe 1 phat ................1 phat......

    Sound varies, sometimes hardly audible.

While riding in that rpm range, in 1st/2nd gear, it rarely jerks or gives that sound. So do you think it is a problem or not?

is the sound coming from silencer or something else... but I m sure i hear it from the silencer.

The bike is 2 months old....1016 kms on odometer.

maybe its the sound of the engine MISSING

this is one of the smallest problem and can be rectified by spark plug cleanin or cheking the caarb n filters
but if causes by engine faults then timing needs to be set

the spark plug is clean as i got that checked....
also that burst in silencer comes rarely and only at lower rpm espicially in 3k to 4k range in neutral quite often
in gear it comes lesser... or same... cant say for sure
        otherwise everything is working smooth
does it need to be shown urgently or its ok to show after a month or so in my 2nd service??????
infact while riding it happens very rarely.

also can i add fz accessories on fazer like leds and all ?? not the performance upgrades....i m talking about that position led on handle bar and all those can they be put on fazer by yamaha authorized dealer ??

The sound from the silencer a.k.a misfire happens on every bike.. at one certain rpm, it misfires.nothing to worry. it is bothersome for a while but try to ignore. a very loud phat like a cracker burst has to be rectified.

            Hey folks,

I have the same issue with my Fazer. Many a times even in the higher revs when you release the throttle it is very evident. Upon checking with a SC mechanic he stated that there is no reason to worry. This is because of the large air filter duct so there is a possibility of an extra burst of air in the engine.

My 2 cents to this discussion. I do not trust the Yamaha SC guys here in Pune. Its a straight forward issue with tuening the bike. The air flow and fuel mix needs to be adjusted. Got mine done from another mechanic and I am rarely facing the issue.

Please refer to the tuening techinques on XBHP. I remember seeing it

The problem is that your bike is runnin lean, thats why its back firing... Get the carb tuned, the problem should dissappear
