• Problem with updated price

Hey guys need some help from you.

One of my friend has booked a RTR-FI about 2 weeks ago. At that time the Onroad price was around 67K. He paid 1000 Rs and booked the bike.

But not the dealer is telling him that the price has been increased and its 69K now. Also now all the dealers have increased the price. I am not sure if he should really pay this amount. If he cancel his booking and again book a new bike then he have to pay the new amount.

AFAIK he should pay the actual amount which was there when he booked it.

Please let know what should be the next steps for him.

Hi RAK,

You have to pay the current price 69k as Quoted by the dealer as it would be the same across any dealer in your current city.
Also the booking is just to block but when you really take the Vehicle you need to pay the On-Road Price of that Particular day and not the Price on Date which you blocked the vehicle.

It happened same with me when we Purchased Honda Activa for our Family.Hence no worries .Please go ahead and take the vehicle

Thanks buddy....actually it was my friend who faced this problem.
Ideally this shouldn't be the case. This is because when you book a vehicle at that time the dealers order the manufacturer. And at that time the manufacturer did not increase the price.

@RAK - Wadker is right
Its not with RTR, its with any manufacturer or dealer in India that the price of any vehicle (including cars, LCV & HCV) are to be paid in full at the time of taking delivery & the vehicle will not be delivered unless the price is paid in full.

Why such a rule? Unless the price is paid in full, there's no invoice copy & without an invoice copy the vehicle cannot be registered. Which means, no one can buy a vehicle with partial amount; in case of loans, the financing company pays to the dealer in full.

Point - This means, if your friend has to take the advantage of 67K, he should've paid it in full 2 weeks ago.

Got it buddy. Thanks for the explanation. Just got a call from my friend. He got his bike delivered today with the complete payment of the amount.
I guess mods can close this thread now.
