i bought a rtr 180 Just a month back .got a host me problems and still no reply from tvs .the gears shift with a bang and the major problem is than after shifting from 2 to 3 rd gear if we suddenly open up full throttle there is a metal beating sound which disapears after attaining good speed . It happenes more when engine is in normal or cold temperature .rest are all not so serious problems like tacho dancing .i have just one question what should i do ?

The noise in cold condition can be due to over tight tappets. If the noise is very high, it is probably due to the insufficient chain lubrication. buddy i dont want to scare you but when today i gave my bike for some repairs at the service center, there was a black rtr 180 standing which was brand new. it just came out of the truck. The bike had a broken third gear. Yes , it was broken. The bike was run only for 0.5 kms. I hope it is not a gearbox issue with your bike.Originally posted by rahul 55 rocker View PostComment

Most modern engines run lean more so when it is cold. I suggest not to open full throttle as yet as your bike is new,especially when cold. You should run in your engine with lot of care or you will have problems. The metallic sound you hear is detonation most likely, lot of it and you will damage you piston and rings. So easy on the throttle till about 2k KMs. I dont think anything is wrong with your bike.Originally posted by rahul 55 rocker View Post
I opened up my engine which used to detonate a lot due to some modifications and the piston had lot of pitting on it after running only 500 kms. So easy on it buddy.Comment
