  • cbz-x disc brake problem

my bike has clocked 2100kms till now.when i first pressed my front brake a little hard about half (not fully pressed) my brake sounded like ghrrr......it feels like something is lose.i immidiately took it to a mechanic he said brake fluid is finished.i thought how come is it possible on a new bike?after opening the fluid container i saw very little fluid floating in there.i immidiately topped up the fluid(dot3).
But even then problem exists.it even makes some kind of sound when pressed slowly.last time at svc when i told it to the service guy he poured some water in the front brake & said its ok now.then i found no problem.but when water dried up everything becomes as sluggish as it was used to be though brake has adequate stopping power.
Can you please tell me how to solve this problem?dont tell me its faulty & i need to change it.because i cant i dont have money & only engine comes under warranty in bangladesh.
Today my friend bought a new bikd discover 135.when i used the disco's front brake i was completely astonished.its very sharp & comes to a halt by pressing the lever only a little.i felt like my cbz-x has a drum brake on the front.
What to do guys?please help me?

try changing your disc pads. But i dont understand why your disc is making a screeching sound. As the bike has just run for 2100 kms, the disc pads should be fine but changing them might solve the problem

sometimes little dirt also can be a major headache.. try cleaning the disc plate.. then the disc pads.. still not solved.. change the pads.. still not solved?? change the disc plate.. still not?? then change the whole set.. but try cleaning that first.. check for leakages of the brake fluid.. check whether the brake fluid is flowing through the brake chambers properly or not.. changing the parts.. keep that as the last resort..

i dont know how to clean the disc pads..........well the svc guy cleaned it with water......but after some hours its still the same.......how can i check if the fluid is flowing through the brake or not????
i dont think there's any leak.....last time i checked it was maintaining the same level...to the level which i've poured.but i still wonder why it was almost empty when i first bought my bike.also u know what my brake doesnt have bite.....sometimes feel like using a very good drum brake....sometimes i have to press the lever very hard to stop it in a emergency situation. really feeling very sad for this.....coz i dreamt of bike for the last 3years & finally got it but this problem is just.....
except for this i have no complain......i cant change the parts.....i dont have enough money right now to spend...still a student....

i dont think so. Only the engine part is covered under warranty. The disc brake does not have any warranty. Maybe they will fix the disc brake for free if the bike is serviced by them in the free service.
NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

yeah exactly the same sound was with my bike too.
Cleaning of disc and disc pads was done using a sand paper for me....i dont think just pouring water would solve the problem.
ask them to clean and if you feel the problem still claim warranty

you are one of the unlucky guys who muct have got brake pads with high metal content. dont worry, replace the pads, and everything will be fine.. you can try to rub off 0.5mm of a layer of the pad to get rid of this but thsi should be the last resort if the svc refuses to replace the pads under waranty.
