  • ZMA:New tyre + Handling problem

Hey guys,i just replaced my zma's tyres with a michelin m45 at the rear and michelin m62 at the front.tyres are according to the stock size specified.
I replaced both the tyres from 2 diff places. First i had replaced the rear and then went 4 a ride and later fitted an m62 front tyre. After fitting that m62,now i feel that the handling has been affected.it handles ok in the straights but when i make turns n stuff, the handling gets worse lyk as if its falling to the side u r turning. The mechanic tells me that since the m62 has a lot of deep grooves all over it (lyk an offroad tyre),the tyre has to run in for some 500 km.is this true?or is it because he messd up the fitting procedure? Has anyone here fitted the same thing and faced any problem? Please help me guys. Thanks in advance.

maybe its ur imagination at work..
      lol jk..

just rotate the tyre with ur hand and check whether its properly fitted or not.. with the handle bar and the shocks.. i.e. put central stand.. ask a person to sit on the back and rotate the front tire and see whether its rotating cool or its kinda shaking or its not in a straight line.. check the rear tyre.. maybe that could solve..

Yeah.i wish. . . Thats why i had my mechanic ride it and he told me that it might be bcoz of the groove pattern and suggested that i go bak to the stock zappers

Dude don't think groove pattern should be a problem cos thousands of bikers are using those tyres. Check wheel alignment, bushings/bearings & for bends/outs in the fork. Also check for the tightness of the main fork nut (this is the biggest nut next to the key-lock on handle). Probable cause is the nut.

I dont think there should be any problems with the tyres or the threading pattern atleast. Just check the fitting of it. Try to rotate the front tyre & notice if the alignment is perfect & doesnt wobbles. Even am running on M45 (rear) & M35(front).. Its the best & has excellent grip over wet, dry, corners.
Another concern could be your belief too sometimes. Yes, it happens. Try to ignore that wobbling feel, have confidence & try riding it. Also other thing could be the air-pressure. Try having low air pressure & ride it.

Hey guys...thanks for all ur replies...Sorry for replying so late,as usual i dont have ready access to internet at home. I have ridden the bike for 600kms now and i feel the problem has gone now, maybe it needed a run in. The bikes grip is excellent ,especially in wet as it does not fishtail even under hard braking like my stock one.

I would like to ask 1 more thing...Do u guys have a problem with your karizma plastics?what do u guys do when they start rattling a lot?

I recently had replaced my headlamp bulbs ,so inorder to do that the mechanic had to take out the cowl. Now while refitting the cowl back one of the headlamp bushes(which i guess was already partly torn)gave away. So now the bikes headlamp rattles a lot.Do u guys know if some other bikes bush can be fitted in place of this one,cuz the stock one is as usual OUT OF STOCK.Im attaching a pic of the bush.
