    strange issue.....first try a different rim before purchasing a new rim.

      good suggestion anmol...i will ask the SVC for a rim to test for a day and only then will buy ...lets see how it wrks out...

        1 - Yes,
        2 - Not necessarily safe
        3 - It could lead to more cracks... its like using a cracked helmet for riding, you never know how it would behave when you need it the most

        5 - There are other options I am sure you must have read them :P but they are ONLY temp fixes!

          thn again satyen...i m going to change the rim...that is for sure...
          cost is Rs 1994/- just checked with the SVC....

          but the spin is i can only claim insurance above a damage of Rs 5000/-...can anyone verify this?

          i guess if true, will have to shell out from my pocket....

            bull crap, nothing like that... which insurance company is this!
            You can claim for any amount of loss, just that number of claims bloat your premiums..

                  have talked with the SVC but they close early and couldnt go on weekends due to family emergency...will keep this thread updated as n when i visit them...thnx for asking.....

                    Finally found time to get the bike to SVC last weekend..they didnt have insurance claim forms...couldnt even download from the Bajaj Allianz site...the url is configured wrong (Thats the IT guy in me talking)...Mr Bajaj are u lissening???

                    well anyways got the form...filled it and sent the bike ytd to the svc...surveyor coming in today...front rim is damaged and the forks are out...guy there said about 80% charges will be covered...
