  • seeking Pirelli tyre for Pulsar

i wish to upsize my stock tyre 100/90-17 (MRF Zapper).

Could anyone please tell me where could i get Pirelli tyres?

What is maximum size possible? Which is the best size for optimum performance?

to get an idea of the proximity of the stock tyre to the chain guard please check out this pic.

From the looks of it, you might be able to upsize to 110/90 x 17. But to upsize further, say to 120/90 x 17, you will have to remove the chain guard. To tell you where you could get the Pirelli's, we'll need to know which city you live in.
Look for Pirelli Sport Demon tyres.

First of all, tell us which pulsar you own? We can assume it as a P150 UG1 or a P220 F.
Also Pirelli's are said to be costly.

If he wishes to upsize to 120/90, there is no need to remove the chain guard.Only the portion where the tyre touches the chain guard needs to be cut.

            Pirelli tyre question revamped.

the pic shows the UG-3 version of the Pulsar with the stock tyre (100/90-17, MRF Zapper).

is it possible to upsize to 130/70-17 Pirelli? Would it foul with the swing arm?

if yes, what modifications should be made? Would cutting the chain guard solve the issue?

i live in Ernakulam. i am unable to find Pirelli tyre here. Could someone help me out please..

                        Hi,

Could you please let me know what is best upsize for Pulsar 180 UG IV,

the current mrf zappers are hopeless and not building confidence when i do 90+ i have decreased tyre pressure to 28front/30rear lot of time but its the same.

Does pirelli/any other brand can can give good road grip?

Zappers are not as bad as you are explaining or experiencing. Infact, they aren't bad et'al. Its just that they're good, but Pirelli(s) are even BETTER... and, loosing confidence on 90(s) or even 100+ just due to tyres when you got zappers is not acceptable, atleast for me.

And, 28psi at front is not "reduced" pressure... the recommended pressure for 90/90 tubeless is itself 25(front)-35(back)... reduce it to 22 if you still feel uncomfortable with 25...

BUT, if you made up your mind that its only the RUBBER what you want to change, then you can go for Pirelli, Michelin, IRC etc. (check for the sizes in Michelin n IRC if they suits your bike or not.

Thanks Garry,i will try to reduce the tyre pressure further and see if grip/braking improves.

btw,i also wanted to know if abs can improve grip/braking in case of hard braking?

                              Anytime bro

And, ABS never increases the grip or braking ability of the bike. But, it stops the tyre being "LOCKED" due to hard/panic braking. This way, you can brake hard without having fear of falling off due to locked tyre and, hence, finally increasing YOUR (not your bike's) braking ability.

Confused hehe... okay, here you go. If you install ABS, it will not increase the grip or braking ability of the bike but will give you confidence in applying brakes harder as after installing it, the tyre will not get locked but it will end up stopping smoothly.
