    A Question to 220 users :

So whats the story behind this "300V oil binge" No Seriously...I have heard this umpteen times and I don't know the facts. So I want to know how much of it is fact and how much of it is fiction. 'Coz I have used 300V FL in my P200 and didn't have problems but I DO KNOW a lot of friends - people owning 220's asking me the same thing - so whats the problem with 220 and Motul 300V ?

Also wanted to know why piston rings get worn when 300V is used for the first time as was posted here...

300v being 15w50 and synthetic, doesnt perform well on certain bikes whether 1st time users or regular users(regular users get back to ss or mineral) can be of many reasons unknown. Maybe the 220 engine needs a little more thicker grade of oil than what motul 15w50 has to offer. As of now, im sticking to castrol 15w40. I have no such issues whatsoever. HIs piston ring wear has no solution. dono how it wore out. All i know is, its too early to use FS at 4k on the odo.

well, I kinda have the same problem...the only thing I notice is after one week itself, the engine oil level is no more visible from the RH side view-glass...I fill the engine oil only at the service centre, and recently I've started checking the engine oil level, before every time I start bike. The frequency of filling up is, every 2000+ kms...I don't know even how many days the engine had run stressed without the oil in it [only now I am getting motorcycle literate]...my P220 FI has done around 40K kms & 3 years old...so what do you guys say?
