  • HELP: Pulsar 180 2008 Strange sound problem

hey guyz today i was riding my p180 2008 dec. model on highways at 80-90 speeds and then i had to rapidly decelerate due to truck and used engine braking but after that a wierd trtrrrtrrrrtrrr sound started coming fom the engine. like sound from a tractor. i stopped the bike to inspect and checked spark plug etc. and then strangely bike refused to start.....
self didnt work at all, pressing the button didnt trigger anything
and when i kicked i felt strange friction on my way down every time...
and it felt as if i was clicking with clutch clamped....
then i decided to wait 10 mins and voila bike starts but with that same annoying sound....
also i noticed too much smoke out of the exhaust...
please help me out guyz its urgent!!
Men who still dream of being a pilot or an astronaut are yet to ride a motorcycle.

Smoke from the exhaust shows that your piston rings are worn out. The kickstarter moving all the way down indicates compression loss. The reason for compression loss may be the same...worn out piston rings.

^^ yup, true that. Get engine checked

the engine braking has caused this , i think ur valves are bent and engine is siezed due to tht ...

Engine braking causing valve damage? Judging by that logic my engine should have been non existent by now.

Guys, Will it happen if the engine oil level is too low & the engine gets ceased?

The sign of smoke and kicker behavior are symptoms of problem at piston n rings

as whizzkid_ram said this is not exactly caused by oil but role of oil is their

engine oil is the lubricant cum coolant for the engine if its old and quantity is low means nothing is left there to protect the engine from excessive damage during high speed engine breaking

check with mechanic and let all know

I agree with Pavan et al. The smoke out of exhaust means the piston rings are worn out and engine oil is seeping inside the exhaust pipe...try checking the open end of the can, after starting the bike and revving it to 5K-6K rpm, at idling condition...if there's sign oil-beads or, the fume is white with oily nature, if u keep your finger close to the open-end, then surly need to fix the problem with piston rings or, get the engine completely checked [the cylinder head is a must]

lol , it can happen , but its rare , not all engines are in a condition to survive the harsh treatment , and its a mechanical failure , it can happen to any engine ...

if your valve clearance are too low , the excessive rise of RPms due to engine braking can cause valve bend ..

@topic : it can also be BROKEN piston rings issue .

note: i am not starting any argument here but its a fact and i can be wrong anyday as i am not any expert lol .
