Cold Starting Problem.

I am facing the exact symptoms with my Unicorn. I too thought that the problem has got to do with unclean carb, so I disassembled it and cleaned each and every part of it using paint thinner(which is an excellent solvent), but the problem persists. So the problem is not due to "Unclean Carb".
Since Unicorn, CBZ Xtreme, Hunk share the same engine, carb; I installed my friends CBZ Xtreme carb on my unicorn and tested it for a week. Never had issues with cold start and the acceleration/throttle response was amazing.
So no prob with Carbon deposit or sludge in the inlet valve, spark plug also.
I also replaced the Main jet, Pilot jet, fuel screw(with same types), lifted the needle jet ---- nothing worked. There are no other replaceable parts except rubber diaphragm, slide which I didn't try replacing. So this is a mystery for me also.
If you find any solution please do post it here.

start the bike woth half choke and slight open throttle.
ride with 1/4 choke for 500 meters and turn off choke.
this is what i follow on my karizma r and never face any problem after this method."Biking is Divine"

This was the exact thing I was looking for. My hunk is still in the stock carb setting and no mechanic putted his hand on it so far, as I’ve been doing the servicing by my self. I use all possible methods to keep the fuel supply clean and to keep the carb clean from the beginning by putting an inline filter and blah blah. But still it gets dirty a little, I observe it during draining the carb, but that was very little. And the carb itself design like the way the inner parts like main jet, pilot jet shouldn’t get dirty so early. The max dirt with the fuel goes into the carb it remains in the float bowl chamber beneath. But I was thinking as it passed 2 years so maybe the carb is varnished a little. But your experiment cleared that thought.Originally posted by sandeepcf View PostI am facing the exact symptoms with my Unicorn. But it wasn’t reacting like that before or while it was new. But as the time passed, it started reacting like that.
The same thing I was thinking to try, I’ve a brand new another hunk at my home, just got it few days back so I was thinking to swift the carb and then try.
And now I’m sure its due to the rich idle mixture issue. As the engine is cold it cant take the rich mixture but while its worm up, the rich mixture works perfect. Just make the idle mixture slight leaner and then try, I will try this at weekend.
Choke is for just to start the engine with richer mixture, with full choke on and with half choke + acceleration, both are same thing. And its not a good idea to drive the bike with the choke on. It may flood the engine.Originally posted by anmol_1990 View Poststart the bike woth half choke and slight open throttle.

Really sad to know that your bike has such kind of problem.
Guys, his bike lokks really like a brand new one in red color. Sometimes I also feen envious with the glossy and neat Hunk of Soumen.
Since I am also having the same bike and never felt such problem, I can only say brother , come to the Service Centre, the HH trained mechanics can help you out. Please ring me before coming because I think the SC guys would listen to me at least
.
Move on.........

LOL.. Thanks bro. I've scratch allergy, I afraid the service guy may scratch my bike, as they are not very careful about that. Still I will try with you if the problem remains.Originally posted by on wheels View PostReally sad to know that your bike has such kind of problem.
