  • Karizma ZMA fairing on a CBZ Xtreme

    Hi guys.....need your suggestions again.....
i have black & red CBZ Xtreme clocked 4000kms till now. I have always been in a fan of KAarizma. I saw some cbz running with the karizma zma fairing installed & they look fantastic to me. I too want to go for the fairing but i have the following doubts.....
    (i) is it a direct fit?
(i)will it hamper my bikes top speed?
(iii)will it be any good for touring?
(iv)will it hamper the handling characteristics?
    (v) will it create any unwanted vibration?

hope you guys will help me......
    thanks

I think its not a direct fit but am not sure, there was a xtreem in our college and trust me that bike was way ahead in style compare to zma. But that person actually fixed a zma's petrol tank and mounted the front cowl on it. He fixed the seat under cowl on custom clamps. Xtreem is a good looking bike, still if you really wanna go for this setup then What you can do is source a junk zma's tank and fix the cowl on it. By this way you can keep your stock tank safely away from welding and all. There may be some negligable changes in handling and yes it can creat some serious vibrations, if not fixed properly. I've no idea about the top speed but i think the added kgs will be compromised by the aerodynamic property of the cowl so i belive your top speed will not be affected, experts can shed more light into this. Best of luck and keep us updated.

here in Bangladesh i see lots of people are doing it.....
according to them its a direct fit......except for the part of the console where the key is inserted...that thing is cut down and set on the handlebar...thats the only modification it has to be done....as far as the comments of the user is concerned......
another question do i have to remove my leg guard????

I have removed and refitted my fairing a couple of times and here's my observation
          (i) No, its not a direct fit.
You need to weld braces to hold the fairing at precise location.
(ii) Fairing are meant to improve aerodynamic. So theoretically speaking, it should increase top end.
(iii) It should, as fairing has bigger windshield.
(iv & v) Depends on how well the jobs done.

Note: CBZ and Karizma tank are differently shaped. The fairing is not only designed to flow with the tank, but there are braces and holes in the tank that holds the fairing in place. These features are not available in CBZ tank. This could be the reason why others doing the mods are opting for Karizma tank. So if you intend on using stock CBZ tank, the effort might just be a little tougher than you imagine.
