      Hi there,

First of all Bajaj P220 requires a 1.5 litre of engine oil. Even I own a P220f and as far as I remember I had my bike's first service at 800kms. The same engine oil is said to be used uptil 8500-10000 kms (as they say) because the time you would go for your bike's second service which would be between 4500-5000kms, they would simply top up the engine oil and wont change it. It would be only at the time when your bike meets approx 9500 kms that they would change the engine oil. Now I am not too sure about the approx kms when you should change your bike's engine oil, but I myself did it at 3000kms and recently at 6000kms( I have been using Castrol Power 1).

blunders!!! pulsar 220 needs 1.2 litres of engine oil and if you run your bike with one oil for 8500-10000 kms, your bike is soon gonna rest in peace. Castrol Power 1 is 20w40 oil and we need 20w50 so another blunder. buddy, please please please go through the manual and 220 ownership experience thread...

          Here r the facts,
the 220 dts-i needs 1150 ml of oil.. required rating is 20W50,any oil with xxW50 should be used.. ex - 10W50,15W50,20W50....
since your first service is done @ ~500kms,
get your second service @ 4~5 k kms...

the bajaj 10,000 oil, from many users will last arnd 1500 kms if driven normally and ~1200 kms if driven like your a$$ is on fire...

but since you r still in your run in period,i assume you wont b crossing70~80,so stick to this 10,000 oil till 2.5k kms, then switch to some thing like valvolene 4t premium or motul 5100 15W50 (both are semi synthetic),or if you are a bit tight on cash you can opt for motul 3000 4t 20W50 mineral oil.... (or maybe stick to the bajaj's oil)

never use oils like bajaj 10,000 or any other ss for more than 2k kms in the 220.... also they said you need 2 cans, as the oil required in 220 is 1150ml,and the bajaj 10,000 is the only oil in the market whihc can be bought in 1150 ml cans... any other oil,you will get only in 1lt cans... hence buy 2 cans, measure 150 ml from one can ,put along with the complete 1lt of second can.... the remaining oil can be used for top-up's,during next oil change,etc....
