    Painting my DSG Spike Jacket

    Hello Guys,

    Dunno if its the right place to ask these questions ... I got a yellow DSG SPike Jacket a month back. I would like to do some cool painting on it.. Can we use fabric paint for it ? Say the colour gets spread then can we use the fabric paint remover ? WIll it lead to discoloration of the jacket ?

      This is a nice idea! I can think about painting it in acrylic colors. Since they are meant to be painted on fabric.

      Moreover, there are some great stickers which might look good on jacket! eg:Yoshimura DSG.

        i was thinking about it .. but if the colour gets spread out then what ? if i use a nailpolish remover or sole organic solvent ten will it lead to discolouration of the yellow colour ?

        i am not thinking about going for the stickers... i am thinking of drawing the map of north east on my backside ... on my shoulder some blue and green shades ..

          Deep, it would be better not to play with the jacket's structure, as far as stickering is concerned. Stickers tend to peel off after some time, which MAY (I'm not saying WILL) affect the aerodynamics of the rider. But this is my opinion, response expected from senior members.

            I think nobody has done that here..... so why not do a test patch and confirm it here

              Stickering is out of the question... I just dont like them as they make me more conspicuous ... Well I guess painting will not have any great adverse aerodynamic effect... but if the fabric paint becomes brittle and gets peeled off then it will look dirty and will have to remove it ... in general organic solvents have adverse effects on the strength of polymer fibres ... so i am more concerned about the paint removal part than the painting part...

              not a bad idea .. but thinking of doing it only after being sure of the paint removal part...

              can you imagine a biker wearing a yellow motorcycle jacket with some blue and green flakes of colour distributed in an uneven manner !!!! awkkkkk ...

                It aint going to be easy to paint a jacket..but you can definately give it a try...and regarding the stickers...why dont you try the cloth patches?? i found some in pune...you just have to stitch em

                  thanks for the help fueljunkee.. if i stitch it to the jacket wont the waterproof material in the jacket get damaged ?

                    Sorry.... but Honestly I cant even imagine a rider with a bright yellow dsg jacket on him

                    Blue green flames may look cool.... a camouflage in fire

                      @sp : its not single coloured.. Its yellow and black..Consider wearing red.. Thats more conspicuous... Anyway painting it in fabric paint.. Gotta give it to my cousin sister for that..
