STD looks best with the stock paint scheme and the royal enfield shield like logo on the tank
most like their bulls to thump a lil more, so they tinker around with silencers till they find it "music to the ears" also you may put on the silencer rubber (at the exhaust tip) for a better sounding thump.

indicators and tailight are something which you might want to change.
see the attachments, the maroon bullet belongs to someone here on xbhp

his mods are
- handlebars (maybe yamaha 350) (300 rs)
-indicators (tailight costs rs 250 in bangalore , indicators rs 750 for all four of them)
-paint scheme (at least 6k for a company finish)
-thinner seat (no idea)
-rear mudguard
-rear wheel changed to avenger's wider rear wheel :P
-Chrome treatment to the engine head and crankcase (5-6k)
-Gas Rear shockers
- rear left side number plate installation

and if you see the std bullet,
-flat plate type mag wheels (5k for those wheels in bangalore)
-Chrome treatment
-Shorter handlebars
-indicators taken from the new electra 350
-Army style front number plate.




do not experiment with the bullet as shown in the 3rd attachment. for heaven's sake

i would say go for a plain STD 350 look with the best black paint if you want add a lil bit flakes to the paint. as your father would be riding it dont go for too jazzy stuff. oh yea make sure you do not go for croming on the engine as it would not stay rather get it buffed. and where are you from?

the best bullet i've seen is in a matte green colour... more like an army bike...

bullet in second pic looks good enough

dont go for any hanky panky bike mods, just keep it simple, it should look neat & clean.
your bike's silencer looks rusted, get it changed first, and similar mods.

and the best part of bull is the engine, as far as its tuned up and well, forget about the looks, just enjoy the ride.

my room-mate has a 97 STD bullet... nothing modified except the indicators and handlebars of a rd350.

Dear Brother, my suggestions for your bullet are as follows

1. For Army Look for ur bike

• Bottle Green / Matt Woodland Green Color
• Try for Gun Stand at the right side of your bike from some army scrap dealers
• Do the body color to the engine rather than doing Chrome or do all black engine.
• Use single seat with springs

1. For Classic Look

• Black / Red / Silver color or may be two tone color
• Front and rear mudgard change to 1950 model bullet which are available at indore
• Use some brass parts on your bike
• Use the large spoke rims which comes with rear meter chain unit
• use two piece seats.

Hey man, first of all, congratulations for having an old Bullet with you. Many people first have to get their hands on such a machine.

Anyways, about the mods, like most people have said here, Bullets look the best plain, simple, clean & maintained. There are an array of options that you have for body colour but then being my personal favourite (hehe) & the bike belonging to an era where Royal Enfiled was the Std 350, I would say go for black, with those hand painted golden lines, & that metal badge, sort of medal of honour.

About the wheels, you could go in for something like Xenologik posted in one his pics, the first one, the back Std, or simply put in a set of new spoked ones, till some time back, they were available for close to Rs.600 per piece from Royal Enfield showrooms. And I must add, that a clean & sparkling set of spoked wheels look equally great if not more than alloys or other aftermarket steel cousins.

Indicators from Electra look great, with those coloured orange covers on them, the transparent ones like on Machismo are not my types. Handlebars, well RD 350's handlebar could be an option when so many people are vouching for it but then I personally haven't ever used it, from all the models that I have ridden, the Electra's handlebar is what appeals to me.

My suggestion for the engine, don't touch it for now if it's running fine, all you could do is get the cylinder painted, & the rest of it buffed, but nothing technical. Wait some time, get a feel of the bike, know it better & then let it go in the hands of some mechanic for further mods, because till then even you will have some knowledge about the bike & also you would be able to understand what you expect of it.

Hey man, I don't want to sound offending, but can you please shed some more light as to how that rubber material improves the thump. I have heard quite a few people saying something of similar sort, so just wanted to know.

its always great to get ur dream machines done to live ur way..all the best..i wud suggest to change the airfilter box and batter box to the older style..rest u can have it originally maintained and repaired if needed..

Hi prashanthkp, my suggestion would be to keep the modifications as minimum as possible.

- Get a better seat. Probably a Goldstar type or a like the one below.
- Get rid of the bucket type rear mudguard and get a round one instead.
- Get rid of the ugly numberplate/brakelight bracket and go for a BSA lamp and mount it directly on the mudguard.
