  • Karizma warranty query--good service in Pune

    Guys,

I have a 2008 ZMA. I often hear a knocking sound from the engine. The service guy in New Sangvi,Pune told me its a tappet problem and adjusted it a couple of times. I asked him to replace it under warranty but he didnt, saying that if it can be serviced they cant replace it.
Its over two years now and i've done more that 20k Kms now. I've been giving the bike for service at the same station from the start. This is the only issue i have a complaint with.

    1. Can someone please advise as to what i can do now? I heard it costs around Rs.1700.
    2. Also please let me know any good service station for ZMA in Pune.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ravi

Is it an authorised service station, Talk to service manager of the problem you are facing in detail.
or call up the hero honda customer care and register your complaint in detail 1800-266-0018
Presence of MIND and self CONFIDENCE is the primary aspect You need to be on road, not what brand your riding gears are.
If you lack these two then DONT

Try changing gears at 2,500RPM for 1,2,3 and at 3,500 for 4th and 5th,and see if the knocking sound goes off. The Karizma is a long stroked engine and develops good torque at low RPMs .,...but if you try to pull at lower rpms you will get knocking sound.
If it is tappet noise then the adjuster screw lock nut may be getting loose, and you need to change the screw and nut to-gether.
If you are a person who rips the bike....then knocking could be due to tappets and lock screw getting worn due to sudden changes in rpm...remedy is to increase rpm slowly and not to whack the throttle....this is a long stroker and cannot rev like RTR,or yamahas.

          Thanks Guys..
I got the logic..I want to get my bike serviced at a service station where someone here recommends..and so i'm waiting..
as you said i want to get the tappet checked and if required get it replaced.

The service center i gave the bike right from the start is Siddhi Motors, New Sangvi, Pune. Except for this issue i'm pretty much satisfied with their service.
Is someone from Pune aware of any other service center (HH or Private) where the mechanic is aware of how the ZMA works..
