  • Engine Oil Level in P220 S

I have a P220 S model bike and it has done 1200 in the odo.i got my bikes oil changed after 530km i.e. during my first service. After the service i haven't topped up the oil. Now i am goin for a 1500 km(approx) ride (to and fro) ,and i am a little bit tensed about my engine oil. Do i have to carry extra oil with me and top it up when it goes down to minimum level or should i top up it before starting the ride ?? ..Also i am using the Bajaj DTS-i 10000 oil in my ryd. Is there any problem with toping up with any other oil brand or do i have to get the same from svc centre ??

dude, just a bit of info...Bajaj 10000 isn't fully synthetic, still it's claimed to last for 2500+ kms after full refill of the sump...Now mineral oil mixes with another mineral type, synthetic mixes with synthetic, but semi-synthetic might not go well with either, for top-up purpose...if you can get a pack of Bajaj 10K oil, buy that...check if smaller quantity packs are avl. or not [less than 500 ml]...

i don't know the quality of bajaj oil, personally i will not tour on a bajaj oil. instead what i will do is ---before starting a long tour, i will replace the entire oil, with a brand i trust like castrol/motul etc. same is recomended for you.

although there is no desperate need to do so..... i will still recommend that since you are going on a tour, replace/change the engine oil and use a good quality oil that you trust, personally i dont know the quality of bajaj oil. also, since your bike/engine is new, do not use fully synthetic oil and that too on pulsar. DO NOT USE FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL AT THIS STAGE.
