  • Pulsar 220 DTSi Front Disc noise

Hi Guys.. My P220 has run 17500 kms.. I've been having a strange problem for the past 1500 kms.. Whenever i tickle the front brakes for slowing down at parking speeds, it emanates a screeching noise similar to the rear disc of the old 220 Fi.. And, this happens even at speed when i need to scrape off a few kph.. I've gone twice to the PBK till date and they removed the caliper from its mounting and cleaned it and said it'll get solved.. Then they bled the entire brake line in the second visit.. But, no solution till date.. I changed my front pads at 14000 kms.. I've checked the pad's condition too.. Its not worn out.. The Bajaj Engineer here told me something about a worn out rubber part in the caliper pistons.. But the mechanic said that the rubber part is not at fault and closed the job card.. Unfortunately for me, the Engineer has been out of town for a few days now.. Any plans on what to do if i need to get this problem rectified..? Anyone faced such issues..? Please help me out..

Though the front disc issues are not addressed here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/556379-post12065.html, its worth giving a look on this post.

screeching sound from front disc brake comes only in two conditions...
        • there is dirt is deposit between disc and pads....now since it is already cleaned, that rules out this problem.
        • second thing is if metal is touching metal...this happens if pads have worn out or if they are not aligned properly or your disc have worn out to such an extent that it has cut a groove .
try replacing pads, they cost only 150-200 rupees and along with it teh rubber thing that you mentioned. those two rubber washers help the pads to return to their original position when brake lever is released.

check the inside of the disc, if it is worn out then it will make a screeching noise. check the pin the pads are mounted on and the pistons inside the caliper. Also try to source a KBX caliper repair kit, it contains the caliper oil seals and rubbers.

              Is your problem solved?

i get the same problem at 10,000 kms only,
the disc pads are already replaced but the noise is still coming,
checked 2-3 times but nothing sorted out, then i take that to one mechanic and he open the whole wheel and put some grease or something like that
Dont know how to call it so i upload a pic, where he put the grease.

              might it help you:
