@ rokerz Thanks a lot.Originally posted by ROCKRZ View PostGuys, I dont want to spoil the fun over here but i believe that this guy really does not know much technicalities about bikes hence he might have asked this here. he sure has asked a silly question but who doesn't ask...
I remember asking similar question to my dad about my cd 100 touching top speed in first gear (when i was learning the bike) ... It really seems silly but he explained me that what i am doing is revving the bike hard.. and not touching the top speed..
later i realised what gears are for... today i know what i was doing was plainly because i did not know about it...
this seems to be a genuine query..
sorry again for spoiling the fun...
btw, i am still roflmao after reading his question and then reading the replies....

instead solving my problem all ppl r just knocking the comments on my friends bike . btw he has p220 with vyde and reached 157 on odo. will ask him again (may be i am wrong).
so please again hitting 47kmph in first gear is normal or not........

People here have touched 153 kmph on speedo but they are very talented riders i dont know about friends riding skill but 157 on speedo smells some thing fishyOriginally posted by shravanchoudhary9 View Post@ rokerz Thanks a lot.

and the Vyde tyre have nothing to do with the topspeed.
In case of ur bike it is totally normal but please refrain such activities as it will screw ur bike big time.A LOST RACE IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN A LOST LIMB

@ Original Thread Starter
Well, we all here on xbhp are here to solve each others queries and problems but we all should be aware that this is a serious biking community with some serious bikers around who have a lot of experience in this area...
If you have any genuine queries then you are most welcome to ask them here and we all would be glad to answer those...
However, I would suggest that you try to find out the answers first by Googling or going through the bike manuals before asking any questions as in most of the cases these two sources are sufficient to answer your queries...
I wouldn't like everyone making fun of me like people are doing here after reading your query...
I'm sure no one means any offense but it's kinda lame...
Please be more vigilant in the future...Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

As someone said on this forum, you can overheat your engine if you rev your bike upto the redline on a lower gear. Your bike is an air-cooled engine and there isn't sufficient wind blowing around the engine at lower speeds. Revving it will heat it and cause a serious problem.
I read this somewhere on xbhp: for maximum acceleration, rev. your bike upto the rpm where you get max. power (read your manual for that) and then upshift your gear. For a drag race, rev. it to the redline and then upshift. For better mileage, do what you used to do before.

Make my BET with him for 1 Lac INR. If he touches the above mentioned speed on any type of road @1st gear than I'm ready to shell out 1 Lac to him and purchase his bike for another 1 Lac. Untill his bike has heavily altered GEARING. And yes no need of Video or any such thing.Originally posted by shravanchoudhary9 View PostThis sunday i will make a video and upload. i have talked with ma friend and he said he can rev upto 82kmph in 1st gear...... lets see....
Just take his bike and try revv it at 1st gear you will possibly achieve 40-45kmph and then show him. If he still says that bike touches 80-100kmph than say him that you want to ride @1st gear at highest possible RPM for 100kms and see if this makes difference. At the end of the day he will learn lesson the hard way by BREAKING his bike up.

yes it is.Originally posted by shravanchoudhary9 View Postso please again hitting 47kmph in first gear is normal or not........
82 kmph in 1st gear is impossible.Originally posted by shravanchoudhary9 View PostThis sunday i will make a video and upload. i have talked with ma friend and he said he can rev upto 82kmph in 1st gear...... lets see....
unless... if he rode off cliff.
and he'd need a sprocket the size of his rear wheel to do that.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostUnless his bike has heavily altered GEARING..

Wrong calculation dudeOriginally posted by MSN1 View Postif thats true their is no need for any other gears,
...... if it goes on on 5th gear he will reach 500 kmph OMG

if your calculating 1st geat 100kmph then 5th gear = (5x100) 500kmph
if our bikes are doing 45kmph in 1st, I don't think the same bike does 45x5=225kmph in 5th gear!
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.
