Lets get back to the topic. I have a similar doubt in this case, i.e i have managed to attain a top speed(speedo) of 122km/hr on my FZ16 which is done by revving to the max, the max speed on 4th gear was 99km/hr & similarly 122 on 5th, but i couldn't ever reach 99 nor 122 with proper gear shifts(say at 5k RPM)... this is a big doubt in my mind...
It could be because the FZ16 max power 14PS is at 7,500 RPM and max Torque 14 N.m at 6,000 RPM. The torque gives you the pulling power and after 6K rpm it is tapering off.....so if you pull to higher speeds at lower gears and shift ,...the bike is able to maintain the momentum at top gear. The 4th gear ratio is 1.045,and 5th is 0.875.The final drive(chain and sprocket) is 2.857...So the final drive itself is a bit tall and add the 5th gear ratio which is already an overdrive,...the bike finds it difficult to pull to higher speed on the top gear...just my thought.

Thanks @psr, but i have tried to make the top speed at normal gear shifts it is not possible, so i thought by only revving the bike in low gears can attain top speeds... may be i am wrong ...

You can try a sprocket with two more teeth than stock at the rear, or a front sprocket with ONE TEETH LESS....This will make the bike pull easily at most gears...but there is a trade off..Your top end will reduce ,though you will have good pull in each gear.Your RPM will be more by 500 for the same speed than before
I don't know which of the sprockets will suit your bike and your Mechanic will be able to tell you. The front will cost you Rs.75/- and rear one may be 250/-.. But don't do both mods, only one of them(One teeth less at front small sprocket OR two teeth more at rear sprocket).

bro I shifted in 4500rpm for all 5 gears & reached 122 with normal shifting but fully crouched. So Fz is possible to attain more than that even in top gear from 5000rpm only that it takes time,Also I had 1500rpm left to go.

i've done 118 kmph on a friends bone stock P15O UGIII with roughly the same "setup"

i'm sure i could have gone past 120 too.

                  i weigh 90 kilos and i didn't have a 5 kilo backpack tho.

i have pulsar 200cc. i am very peaceful rider no rush. always use to change gear in 2nd after speedo hits 10-15kmph. but when i saw how people used to drive for fastly reaching high speed on speedo. so i tried maximum speed that can be reached in first gear.
so i tried many times and found my bike stuck on 45kmph and after that have to shift gear in 2nd.
my frnd has p220dtsi and he said he can rev in first gear upto 100kmph.
                    so i am really disappointed.
so please masters tell me wether it is a problem and if yes then please tell me the solution. i have recently changed sprocekt set, clutch plates , tyres, after market clip-on.
                    please friends help me.

I think your friend puslar speedometer reading starts with 100 (i think the IC in digital meter might have inserted Up side Down)..., check with warranty if still repeats
                    (....just for fun.!!)

it's not possible to reach this speed in first gear.

Race in Hill area with lots of curvs down up

well riding very fast on the way of our hilly area after 4 pm the road are block for four wheeler to cross the hill area and we biker enjoy full keen down cornering at high speed

So what are the precaution to shifting of gear some of my friend are very good and they didn't use clutch to shift the gear the just change with the rhythm of accelerator like drag race and suggest need and art of effective and good braking from expert especially in hilly road

                      the cornering mark in tyer

the last one is under normal riding condition

hello xszpranajit i also used to drive my p200 without clutch because i felt it doesn't require clutch while going up shift. so is it good driving skill or we have to use clutch for good health of bike.

clutchless shifting is not good for bike's health.
