  • Pulsar 150 2003

Hey Guys, I need some enlightenment from all you there.

I have received a PULSAR 150 2003 Model, yes the round light one from my brother last month. It had done 30k and is still in a proper condition. I recently got its clutch plates changed and the bike is alright.

    Today I experienced a problem.

[1]While driving today I saw that whenever I am changing the gear, up or down the gear gets stuck. So I have to push the gear lever once again.

[2] Many a times when I release the accelerator , The race does not go down properly. It feels as if the accelerator is getting stuck there.

[3] This one is not that hard, I need graphics for my bike as its graphics have been torn from place to place. Where can I find the exact graphics? Any idea about cost? I have heard the showroom guys are way too expensive.

[4] Loose kick: The kick of my bike has become loose, so whenever I drive it sort of opens up and strikes at my legs. Can it be tightened? Changing a kick is costing me 200 bucks.

      1. This is common to Pulsars, may be pulsar owners can throw some light about solving the issue.
      2. Change acceleartor cable, check for springing action/oil/grease the points.
      3. Visit some auto shops and seek their advice
      4. If it's 200 bucks change it.

pulsar's gearbox is not very good or smooth, having said that.....it should not get stuck. check the oil level, if its low, change it. how many kms back was teh last oil change? tell you problem to a mechanic....he will do clutch setting....to eliminate the problem. but do keep an eye on oil level.

there can be several reasons like

        1) block piston has worn out....needs change
        2) if the chain is too tight, there will be problems in top speed.
        3) valves leaking
        4) most obvious reason is carbeurator, get it checked.....diaphram, diaphram piston, slide, float pin, etc.
5)does your bike produce normal sound....check if connection between carb and engine or carb and air filter box is not loose.

[3] This one is not that hard, I need graphics for my bike as its graphics have been torn from place to place. Where can I find the exact graphics? Any idea about cost? I have heard the showroom guys are way too expensive.
        which city you are in....??

the root cause can be identified on physical examination only, go to a good mechanic and if he says you have to change the kick....200rs is not too much....even a can of oil cost more than that.
        my answers in bold....

Buddy, i also owned a P150 dtsi ug1 model and had experienced this harder gear shifts and when the service engineer test rode my bike said that a spring balancer has gone kaput.(actually i doesnt remember the technical term i am sure that it is a spring which is connected to gear shaft inside the crankcase)After the replacement the bikes gearshift was ultra smooth,so check the possibility of this spring with ur svc engineer.May this will solve your problem.

              Pulsar 150 classic upgrades

I was thinking of buying a pulsar 150, the round headlights to be specific.
The modification is must for me, about the modification I am mostly focusing on performance upgrade and that POWER. The tires and alloy wheels are must, what about the rear disc also. Also i want the engine and some parts to be chrome finish, rest would be black.
You people will think why only this bike, all i can say is that i just love this bike.
The other thing is that from where can i get this done, like, someone professional and can give assurance of his work.
The bike should be a good competitor.
