Bulleteers i need help, i am thinking of buying a good used Enfield Bullet, and my budget is around 40-45k, but while i am getting many offers, i am quite confused over the bullet model lineage, i mean, i have owned a std 350 bull in the past, but all these new(old) models confuse me, for example, this guy comes to me with a Machismo, in good condition and asks 38k from me, but i've heard that there were a great deal of problems with the Machismo, relating to the head, and the block itself, and that it didnt sound like a bullet, and when i rode one, the thump wasnt even close to the std 350 which i owned, perplexed, i took a look over to the Electra, and its asking price was 45k, in moderate condition, scuffed paintwork,and the bike was a 2004 model with the original side gearshifter. I rode it, and it sounded exactly like a bullet should sound, but 45k for a scratched scuffed bike is too much for me plus the tyres were on their last legs. I need a bullet in running condition, and investing 15k for repairs to bring it to it's original state is too much for my wallet, plus i don't know anything about the differences between an AVL engine or a CI engine, nor about the models i mentioned above and their problems, so please help me out.

I have a few questions from bullet afficiandos out there, which i know will help me out of this-

-What is the difference between an AVL engine and a CI engine, what are the pros and cons of the same?

-What advantages does an electronic CDI bullet have over it's CB point equipped counterpart?

-I've heard the Machismo develops many problems in its lifespan, so is it safe if i invested in her?

-Does the Electra hold oil better than the Machismo 350 (ie oil leakage is less)??

-What things should i look out for in an Electra to see if its safe to buy?

-How much will it cost me to get a disc brake fitted to my bullet?
