  • Help regarding engine oil selection

    Hii,

I have a new hunk which is 3 days old/100 kms. I thought of changing the oil and when I went to change the mechanic put gulf pride 4t engine oil 10w30. I'm bit confused whether the oil is correct for my bike , means is it good to put that oil right now at 100kms. I changed it early because somewhere in Xbhp it is recommended to change the initial oil at 100-120 Kms.

Kindly suggest me. Will this effect during my first servicing. If this oil is not good right now then kindly help me

    thanx in advance

Go for HH stock oil only as others will void the warranty. And you can wait till 500 KM for oil change.

So, what should I do right now. Drain out the oil or just keep it till first service. And should i tell the service guy about the change or jus keep quite and let him work and change the oil. suggestion required.

Problem: When I close the throttle completely fro braking, there is some noise beneath and in front like some metal getting collected towards front.and Vines start at 50 Kmph or 4K rpm. So, is it normal for new bike or should I mention it to the service guys. Today went to SVC and they did some nut bolt tightening but still problem stays.

        help me

thanx price bhai....and a bit off thread query. Would like to know that can a tube tyre be fitted in hunk(stock tubeless). I'm getting Michelin tubeless 120/80 but stock is 100/90 18'. Kindly suggest me will it be correct to go for that. Also mention the adverse effect.

Kindly note: I know my bike is just 200 Kms old but the stock zapper Y is not that good. not feeling confident

you may end up stressing your new engine with unwanted extra weights.., keep and maintain the stock atleast for break-in period..do not play with engine oils so early..it will surely void the warranty..and yes dont reveal about your oil change at your service center...,

                        1. i dont think there should be any problem in fitting tube type tyres on your rims.
                        2. i think you should get good tyres in tubeless also.
                        3. which michelin tyres are you talking about.
                        4. please wait for few days as i am also searching for good tyres which give excellent wet and dry grip.

if you want real good wet traction, my advise is not to go for any indian brand as almost all indian tyres are made with kilometers in mind and not grip. it is a common mentality in india that any tyre that lasts longer is good, but longer lasting tyre means hard rubber compound.....which means lesser grip. to get really good grip in wet conditions you need a soft compound tyres or a tyre with a tread design which maximixes water drainage under contact pitch. i think that R15 tyres are better than all other indian made tyres. by tommorrow morning i think i will come up with something. by the way...........fishtailing is not only tyres fault.........it has something to do with riders technique also, please read braking techniques in "art of riding section".....i am also using MRF....but want to change for more wet grip....doesn't mean that MRF is bad.
