But the problem is, I usually plan for a short or a long drive on weekends. Sometimes I may keep the bike under curtain for months. Now, I have come to know that the remaining petrol in the tank may deteriorates quickly and a tank full of fuel deteriorates very slowly.

Don't worry on too much of complicated things, what you're doing above is RIGHT method & is more than sufficient. My suggestion in addition would be is 745 Kms clocked in a year is way too less. Ride for atleast 10 Kms a week, if not daily.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Petrol is a chemical and like most hydrocarbons deteriorate over time. A larger quantity may not deteriorate slowly than a small quantity...may be the quantum may differ....Adding 1.5ml of pure Acetone per liter of petrol SLOWS DOWN the effect upto another week....but more than a month old, the petrol turns into a chemical with strong Varnish content, and sticks to all parts it touches..Originally posted by on wheels View Posts quickly and a tank full of fuel deteriorates very slowly.
So the best thing to do for long storage time is to drain petrol from Carburetor, and petrol tank and leave them dry.Fill fresh petrol again when you have to use the vehicle...
I had learn this through tough experience. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

+1 with psr guru...Presence of MIND and self CONFIDENCE is the primary aspect You need to be on road, not what brand your riding gears are.
If you lack these two then DONT

What psr described is accurate for storing a bike for longer periods. But regularly adding Acetone or any other after market fuel stabilizers additive may solve the problem but on the other hand these will harm the engine for long term basis.
For keeping the bike idle for a week is not an issue. I’ve the same issue, I usually drive my bike once or twice a week and I’ve been doing this since last 3 years, and so far no issue at all. Even my carb is still untouched and it’s providing 55kmpl mileage. As per me the best quick way which I’ve been doing is: at the last run before storing the bike, while you’re near to your home turn off the fuel knob and keep driving. After reaching your home keep the bike in idle and let it run until it dies by itself. Or the best way is measure how far your bike can run after closing the fuel or with the inline fuel. This way the all inline, carb inside inline fuel will clear and until you turn on the fuel knob no fuel will go inside. So if there have no fuels, so no varnish issue.
And BTW a quality amount petrol takes much longer time to become varnish if it is stored in a closed container which don’t let air flow. And it’s good to keep the fuel talk with half tank of fuel always.Speed is a joy but roads are not race track. Keep speed in your limit and always Drive safe...
