  • Problem with Crankcase oil catch can on STD 350 cast iron

    Hi all,

I sometimes come across a very queer problem while checking for the oil level and topping it up on my 2009 STD 350 CI. Sometimes the oil level is shown as below the minimum mark on the dipstick ( I check this by placing the bike on main stand and when engine is warm). When I add about 50-100ml oil to the engine, after a day of hard riding on the expressway I am left cleaning the oil oozing out of the catch can onto the air filter. Surprisingly this has happened twice in the past 4 months. Could some one tell me what exactly is wrong.

    1) Is it the way I check the oil level and topup

    2) Is there something wrong with the cranckcase breather and oil collection can setup that has to be rectified.

    3) Is there any alternate way of overcoming this problem.
