    Disc Brake Problem in P150 UG3

    Hi ,
    I am having a pulsar 150 UG3 model & recently I am facing a problem with the disc brakes. It is slighty hard to engage & also it deosn't get released easily which is noticed by seeing the rear brake light on ,till it gets released.
    when to service station & told that the problem is with Major Kit & also replaced it for around 300 (including disc brake oil).Still no solution to the problem. Also whenever I am trying to use the disc brake,it produces a dhak-dhak effect on the front tyre which I haven't noticed before. What could be the problem. ? Is it a problem with the disc brake pads?

        Did you personally stand in front of them when they changed the Major Kit??????,because what they do is that if the owner is not around they just remove the kit,check for the tension of the spring and put it back with new disc brake oil.The problem you are facing is genuinely that of the major kit.Get the kit removed and check for the cylindrical structure which will be along with a spring.You will come to know whether they have put a new kit or not. If it was a problem with the disc or the pads you would get a screeching sound (The sound which you get when a metal-metal surface is rubbed against each other).

          I was personally there when they changed it. It took nearly 30 minutes for them to do it. Personally I feel ,the probelm is something else. The brake lever becomes very hard to engage & after a few pushes,it's back to normal(Nowthat I have forgotten how a normal disc brake would behave ).

          I will get it checked for the disc brake pads,once a local mechanic said that cleaning the disc brake pads would solve the problem. Let me a give a try.Hope it get's resolved. With no confidence in braking,hardly I take the bike past 70-80's.

            tell us whether your disk pads or disk has worn out, if yes you need to replace them, new disk pads on very old worn out disk also creates grooves which make the brake stick and not release immediately. if you have replaced your disk pads recently, tell us you have not installed duplicate cheaper ones?

            along with major kit, you also need to change a few rubber washers, rings etc inside disk caliper assemble mounted on the fork. tell u whether you have changed them as well.

              Buddy me too having the same problem , earlier I got it replaced but now after aroung 8 months it has again started occuring , is there any solution to it without getting it replaced ?

                Had this issue with my Pulsar 150. This happened post rainy season, and the service station guy removed the whole kit and cleaned it with brake cleaner. Additionally he also changed the old pads as dust had eaten almost 95% of it. It solved it very well. I would suggest that you have a close watch when your mechanic services these parts.
