Aargee dude I never meant to sound partial to anyone but its just that prince has been of some help to me earlier too , check my previous threads. So take it easy dude.

Avinrichards , Romeomike : Deciding against the bore job , I think I will go with changing the block piston.

If you ask me, I would go shopping for the original parts myself, not go to the ASS but rather go to a known good mechanic and get it fixed under my own supervision. I have heard a lot of stories about ASS billing you for the new parts while reusing the old parts
Yaser Bhai Now this is a problem since I dont know any place to buy spare parts and my mechanic is also a lil bit greedy type.Thats why I decided to go with the BAJAJ ASC.

Isnt there any way to make sure that they have used original new parts instead of the old ones? Although the Bajaj ASC mechanic said there is no guarantee on the spare parts, it is sure that you will get absolutely genuine parts.

since your bike is around 40,000 kms old...........chances are that your crank also needs work...........now there are two ways of it, either replace or get it repaired..........even a repaired crank will easily last 10,000 kms atleast. .............u can choose........
Changing the crank means added expenditure or would it still be in the range of 5000. I dont think Bajaj ASC would do a repair job on crank. Suppose if there is play in the crank would it be mandatory to get it repaired? whats wrong with the play?

yes, tell them that you want to make sure that all parts used are original, so before installing you want to see them seal packed in original packing with 3D hologram of bajaj.

i think ASC has already considered repairing you crankshaft in the estimate, otherwise it won't reach 5000 rs. and yes ASC does repair crankshaft, sure.
also be there at ASC when they are assembling you bike, and get it done in front of your eyes.
