  • new FZ16..will it go to Spiti?

    Hi All,

I have got new FZ16 which say by 20th of April its odo will show 500-700kms. I am desperate to go to Spiti on 22nd April to utilize this holiday at the fullest.

Can you people please suggest whether it would be a wise decision to travel to spiti on new FZ 16 or should I wait for some more time.

Any personal experience or thoughts are most welcome

    -Rahul

If you could complete the run-in and the first service before leaving then it would be much better...

Thanks Tanmay, I was bit skeptical about taking new bike on spiti roads, Yes I have this plan to do some run-in and get the first servicing done before leaving for the mecca

          Thanks MG bhai for approval.

I am a novice when it narrow down to bike maintenance. I had Pulsar 150 In Pune and I have used it with full force, result being I had to sell it off in Pune itself.

After first servicing, would it be ok to take it for terrains like spiti, I mean in longer run will it have any effect on engine and on a bike overall.

Just make sure you don't exceed the rev limits in your manual for the run-in period. You'll probably need to ride below 65 till about 1500kms are clocked on the ODO.

I suggest you start loafing around your city to complete 1500kms before the trip

Clocking 1500kms on ODO would be an easy job to do in 15 days

Will take care of that. Many thanks in helping me out....Spiti ...Spiti

just one thing i wanna tell you, keep your tyre air pressure a bit above the recommended pressure, just in case u encounter some really bad roads. because FZ has low profile tyres and there were many cases of rim getting bent and loss of tyre pressure may occur due to tubeless tyres and in that case u may get stuck in the middle of nowhere. just increase a pressure a bit.
