  • Help : ZMR rims getting scratches !!!

I bought a ZMR 3 months ago and nowdays i am observing that there are small scratches on my front rim . I drive very carefully avoiding ditches , potholes etc . what can be the possible reason fot these scratches ?? how can i remove the scratches ??? i already tried permanent marker and paint but they are of no use .

    two more questions .
where i can get reflective rim tapes ??
Can i buy them online ??
    I don't brake rules , I merely test their elasticity ;)

          Try some other sticker shop.

Some sticker shops have racing strips(rim stickers) as ready-made. Will cost max of 250rs. I bought one for my friend during dec2010, cost 200rs.

Actually its not HH fault ... I think i may have found the reason for these scratches . Small pebble , stones that are present on the road can cause serious damage to rims as well as lower cowl so drive carefully guys .

Can I try black spray paint on my alloys to hide the scratches ??

Aditya rim paint scratch and peeling is very common. The paint used is HH bikes is powder coated and its heat resistance too. And after a few time/years max HH rim paints started to peel off. Mine is same in many places.

So far the best ay I got is go to a automobile paint store and ask for a Matt black paint, buy a little and buy a thin paint brush . Slowly apply it on the damaged area, it works 90% to match with the stock paints. But for minor/light scratch you can slowly polish them to make the scratch lighter.
BTW as per me reflective rim tapes are not a good option for HH bike rims, you may laugh but after a few time if you tried to remove or the tape itself get damage this will damage the paint when you will try to remove it.

                  hi

I am facing similar problem with my bike, i have a 2 1/2 yr old HH Hunk, I had got puncture on my rear wheel so took my bike to tyre shop to get it rectified. The puncture problem was solved but then when i saw the rim i got pissed of ,the Alloy paints had come off in some places ,might have happened while removing the tube.I scolded that chap but i knew its of no use.The problem is the area where paint has come off is visible clearly so wanted valuble inputs from experts as to how we can cover those up. Has any body faced similar situation??

I have had similar issue with my bike, without repainting/touch up there have no other way to get ride of this issue. Do it as I said in my last post, this is the most easiest way so far I got. And from next time in case of a puncture take your wheel to any MRF tire dealer/shop those have a tire remover machine. If you remove the tire with this machine it wont damage the paint at all. And then repair it normally.
