  • Getting a krrrrrr sound from Electra twin spark

    hi all,

this is my first thread in xbhp.. i bought a new electra twin spark 4 days back..
mean while. today while i kick started my bike i forgot to put back the kicker properly in its place(it was little out of its sitting position).. after a minute of riding i pushed it in and after that i started getting krrrrr sound from my engine i think it coming from my kicker totally worried of it tomorrow i am planning to take it the RE showroom.. meanwhile can you guys suggest what could be wrong.. i hope nothing is seriously wrong

should i pay anything to the RE showroom. if they have to open the engine and check things out .. or service will be of free ?? ...

If you get this sound when your engine is running & when you press the kicker a little, then its quite normal.

don't tell the service center all this, just tell them about the sound and get it repaired for free. don't pay anything.

              No it is certainly not.

Take it to 2-3 independent garages & take their opinions. But never allow any one of them to open up the vehicle under warranty. Most ppl should say that they need to open up to check, so skip those garage's opinion.

By then, you'll get an opinion as what most people are trying to say.

Take it to ASC again, never tell them what you found out or any theories. Just tell them you get the noise & ask them to check, very politely & firmly & at the same time very friendly. If they should once again ignore your request. HINT them about what you've learned asking if that could be an issue. I'm sure by then the ASC will either open up or still reject your request. If they reject, approach the showroom manager & call him for a test ride with you.
