    Electra UCE misfiring

    Hi guys,

    I am need of some expert comments and help regarding my Electra UCE-Stuka.
    Few days back a nut had fallen off from the point where in the silencer bend pipe connects to the engine.I noticed that after reaching home and immediately fixed it back.But from that day my Electra is misfiring,ie the thump is more from the area that connects the bend pipe to the engine than from the silencer.
    If any one can suggest me a quick fix for it,it would be great,or else do i need to get it checked from a mechanic,pls suggest.

      Even i had the same problem in my TBTS. i just changed the gasket now everything is fine.

          Exhaust gaskets usually cost 15-25 INR.

          Did you tighten the nut by hand or tools? If hand, then tighten properly with tools, both nuts to same torque (tightness). Do not over tighten. Change the gasket only if problem persists after this.

            Hi Ayson,

            I think you might be right,the tools that are provided by RE were of no use to fix it up,so had to use dummy objects to fix it up,will give it a try,will it be fine if I open up both the screws and check the positioning and fix it back up.................or thats something for you need to be in expert mode

              Yes my bike is still warrenty period but thy did charge me 50 bucks for that. I did'nt get the 2nd part...

                The tools provided in the tool kit are for quick, emergency work that the owners can do. Do not use them unless necessary. You will need an offset ring spanner or socket wrench, around 14mm for those nuts.

                There is no problem if you undo the nuts. But you will not be able to take the silencer off. Also, the position is fixed by the clamp and the cylinder head exhaust mounting manifold diameter. There is not much play there.

                Simply undo both bolts and tighten them back to equal torque. If the problem persists then further action can be taken.

                  Hi Ayson,

                  Thanks for the help bro,I was able to crack that,took it to to the garage next to my house and borrowed some tools from him.There were 4 points which i had to open up to free the silencer and pull it out.On taking it out noticed that the inside packing of rubber had worn out.
                  So went to Nanapeth and bought a packing for 25 Rs.Back to the workshop and replaced it.Gave 10 Rs to the dude for lending the tools,total cost 35 and now it all sounds good........................
