Now I just wanted to tell you if you keen on getting your bike converted then let me tell you its a successful work. Have seen so many fi version converted in my locality. From 220 to apache both fi were transformed into carburettor one. And I remember my friend getting 220 carb from chor bazar. Excellent in condition and it costed him just 800rs so now you have to decide what you want to do. And apart from that if you can come to south mumbai my trusted mechanic could solve your fi problem without even converting it. So you decide what you want. And if you ask me I would suggest you to show to this mechanic once his charges are extremely low am not here to promote him but I have seen the work he does so hence recommending
Its already mentioned in my first post, The bike is of year 2008, done 28k Kms. I stay in Jogeshwari, Mumbai.
I cannot tow my bike to south mumbai. If it was in running condition i would bring it to your mechanic.

looks like you have already spend loads of money on your bike.. I didn't spend this much in last 5 years and 45k kms on my 180UG2... I would suggest you to sell it off as soon as you get a good deal and go for new p220dtsi. if short of money you can look for some less run used one also .

          Finally got it back yesterday.

          Total Charges Rs.5589/-

They Billed me for Oil but they didn't change it SOB's I personally went & put in Motul 5100

          they changed the following

          Engine Oil 20W50
          Relay Head LI
          Engine Control ECU
          Filter Fuel
          Total 4265.06

          & Service Package of 1200 + Vat

Now I need to change the Exhaust but i Don't want to spend 6k for it. Any chances of anything better than the stock one & at cheaper Price?

Or Would it be better to sell it?

the list of parts you have replaced is very long. i wouldnt ever spend that much on my bike, but then again i dont depend on it for commuting so i can take my time to troubleshoot the problem myself. the parts you say you have replaced....did you ask the service centre to give you the part that came off the bike , that way they dont charge you for someting they havent done. and believe me they do that. converting from efi to carb is not at all wise. the problem is just in the ignition system.

the guys at most bajaj service centers are skilled enough to fix a carb bike so fi is almost like from a different planet for them. they just usually replace the part they suspect and hope for results, at your cost. no brainstorming goes into troubleshooting.

anyways, if you still want to try the carb route then , i bought a new carb for my pulsar 150 for 1800 bucks a year ago. the one for 220 is slightly bigger so the max ull spend is 2200. dunno if the airfilter box is the same, if it isnt , get yourself those cheap Chinese k&n copies for about 450 bucks (they work well, trust me) or if you have plenty of money to spend then a k&n for 1800.

you really dont need any other parts as far as fueling is concerned, the ignition system may be another story. A cdi and some rewiring can be expected.
i suggest you buy the carb bikes wiring harness so that you can remove the fuel injection system without damaging it and have the option of reverting back in the future(wouldnt i give an arm and leg to convert my bike to efi)
anyways , do tell us how your bike is doing.

This is an old thread...but anyways i'll update you on the details.

I don't depend on my bike for commuting, My work is from home so I don't have to travel anywhere on the weekdays, I only take my bike out on weekends & then too i face the problem of it not starting up or giving jerks while driving (off course i let it idle for 5 mins).

Now regarding conversion, I didn't do it. I sold my bike & bought a Suzuki Swift VXi, the person i sold it too told me that he'd be repainting the bike to a different color so maybe the mechanic he give it to will figure out the problem when disassembling/ reassembling.

I am free from that mess of a bike.... btw i only know basic troubleshooting, & i tried everything i can to get the sparks back in those spark plugs but when it stopped i just wouldn't start again.

@aasimenator: I had the exact same issue that you mentioned with my Pulsar 150 dts-i. Bike jerks and stops suddenly. No power to the plugs. After a while it might start and sometime it doesnt even after a long time.
The problem with my bike was with the CDI. The prob was fixed after changing it. Not sure whether you have already tried that.
