  • Charger using bike's battery for camera?

Doing leh in exactly 2 months and I am wondering if anyone has tried making a portable charger for a digicam using bike's battery.
Mine is a Panasonic fz35 and needs some 3.7V for charging. I would not want to buy a spare one because it wont be of much use after this ride
    Any ideas?

The simplest method is using LM317 or 7805. since battery charging doesn't need precise current and frequencies the above ICs will serve your purpose.
Please mention the ratings of the charger like output voltage and current and also the type of battery, connectors used to charge the battery etc.

The panasonic lumix DMC FZ35 uses a panasonic branded lithium ion battery , which does need precise charging and overvoltage/overcurrent/overcharge protection . It even has a panasonic identification chip inside it and generic batteries cannot be used . Abused ; a lithium-ion battery pack may get damaged ,catch fire or even explode .
Your best bet would be to check if panasonic makes a 12v car battery (car cigarette lighter) charger for it , or else a solar powered charger for it .
