  • need info on free flow silencer ?

    guys,

i own a RE electra twin spark UCE, done 600 kms.. planning to change the OE silencer to short bottle/free flow silencers for better thump....

what are the advantages and disadvantages of using a free flow silencer ?
what problems are expected if i change the OE silencer ? should i change the jets and air fuel mixture ? ..

    please suggest guys.

Only a good quality silencer will offer you better performance than the current setup, not any aftermarket silencer.

Changing the jets/ AF mixture is not required, although it may contribute to better performance if done correctly. You can skip this if you're not sure.

As far as I know, RE was offering aftermarket silencers for Classic 500 which increased both its acceleration & top speed. The top end was in range of 130 kmph real. But this was in a magazine review only.

So, your first step should be trying to confirm this with your RE Dealer, if he has some aftermarkets.

Otherwise, you might have to get an aftermarket one which may or may not be reliable enough, and although you will get the thump, but you might lose on performance, reliability and mileage.

By the way, you looking for 'more' thump in a RE?? What are your intentions?

I'm not sure on much performance gain on FFE, but for sure a loud exhaust is certainly attention to cops (which is not legal) & hence bound to attract fine.

Stick to stock if you want to have your bike in good condition for sometime..You had done only 600Kms..

If you are looking for a meatier thump and ready to shell out on your new Bull then you can opt for Goldstar or Standard 350 silencer. No change required in jets or carb. Will have no negative impact on engine .. Will give you better thumping sound and better performance.

                      Hi not

im also in the same shoes are you're, my bull has roughly crossed 700 on the odo but will change the stock silencers after 2K as suggested by other members here and in other forums. I think Goldstar by Sans Inc will be a good option as i've seen its videos on youtube and heard many good reviews about it.

                      Regards
