query on run in period

hi,

just took a electra, during devliery the RE service people insisted that i never ride on a constant speed, i.e never be steady on 50 km/hr or 40 km/hr. was wondering whats the need for it what are the problems if i go at a steady speeds, cause its hard not to be at steady speed on the highways.

any suggestions guys.
