  • Bajaj Super 1987 Front Mudgaurd

    Hi Guys,

Currently I am working on a old bajaj super 1987 model, and everything is going fine, but the problem is that the front mudgaurd is cracked from the back because of rust.My painter is telling me that it can be welded but it wont look good, and my mechanic doesnt have a clue where to buy a new or old mudgaurd in good condition for bajaj super in Pune.
Does any one has any guidelines or directions for me to find a mudgaurd for bajaj super in Pune, would be great help.

    Regards
    Sushant

Welding, when done by someone competent enough is a good option. I've myself seen the fuel tank of a Yamaha 80cc bike welded and repainted which looks as good as new. You can probably try it, if it doesn't work to your satisfaction, you can then look around in some scrap yards.... I think there is a place in Pune called Nanapeth or something where you can try getting it from.

        noor- thanks dude..........

Guru_DTSi- what you are saying is absolutely true dude, but the guys I am working with are a pain, mostly the mechanic,he is not getting into things to finish up the project. So I though why not just get a new one and start on the paint job,as I am desperately waiting to start with the paint job,and get it all finished as soon as I can, will try out nanapeth tomorrow, are there any more specific directions like a store name or something...........might help

i think its possible to grind away the weld seam to the thickness of the metal.

You can find a spare mudguard for that scooter from a scraps dealer etc who deals with scraped bikes .. I used to have one bajaj super ... Most old scooters are being scrapped now , they are cutting up and selling those for parts and scrap-metal . Mine was scrapped too sometime back .

                Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the input.Had gone to nanapeth on saturday and after a bit of enquiry I was pointed to a lane which had stores which sold scrap. In the first store itself I got hold of the mudgaurd for 150 Rs.It has no dents on it,and will go to the painter for the paint job tomorrow. Will keep you all posted on how the whole bajaj Super turns out.......................Thanks once again
