  • Very strange problem with my ZMA

    Hi,
I am having a very weird problem with my 2006 ZMA. Whhenever i start the bike in the mornings i e whenever the engine is cold the idle RPM hovers at 1200 which is perfect but as i ride it for a while and as the engine begins to heat up the idle RPM starts increasing and it reaches 5000 also.. Can someone plese help me with this problem. I showed to the people in the HH service station and even they could not figure it out. Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated. The bike has clocked over 70000 kms.

Check your accelarator cable screw at the carb...it might be loosely attached....thats why it keeps on pulling!!!!!!
Also check your choke cable...it might be broken or activated when your riding and thats why ur idling increases to 5000rpm (choke idle rpm-5000).....

These two things are likely to be causing trouble...if not then its your engine!!!!!

Do check for both solutions provided!

My understanding is that, when the engine is heated up, the piston moves more freely in the cylinder. There are good chances to devlope sludge inside the engine after 70000km on the odo. Do a engine flush, that MIGHT solve your problem.
        Move on.........

+1 to your suggestion!!!! yes this often causes a rise in rpm....As said its either the cables or the engine for sure!!!
But do get it flushed at an authorised center!!!!
