  • Used Bike

    Hi Guys,

I am planning to get used bike. One of my friend is selling his Karizma- 2005 model for 25k. I know him personally and so can say that the bike would be well maintained.

Also I got a clue of a P220 DTS-fi(dont know which year bike is it) for 45k.

Need your expert advise which one should I go for?

Also the fuel average figures for both the bikes would be a helpful.

My friend selling his Karizma says the bike gives an average of 25-30km/ltr. I don't have much use other than joyriding the bike.

Would be ussing ocassionally for weekend rides.

Since you are buying a used bike the average and the costing will solely depend on the condition of the bike.

Actually I want to know the mileage of that particular model when new. AFAIK, 2005 Karizma had a claimed mileage of 30km/hr by the company which reduced somewhere around 20km/hr on actual road use.

pulsar 220 dtsfi givs mileage of 30-35 if thrashed and 35-40 if riding easy
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!' -Hunter S. Thompson

          its 35km/L not per hour

anyways yeah Karizma Premium sports used to return pretty bad mileage figures..close to 25kmpl..but P220 FI will surely return you mileage figures over 40kmpl..

still i would suggest you to get a KArizma only if its well maintained cuz the price difference is of 20k & you won't be riding your bike much so FE won't come that handy to cover that difference of 20k here..

Mileage again depends on the condition of the bike.My 05 ZMA still gives around 30KMPL in city conditions and 40 to 43KMPL on highways.Note:Bike is always ripped by me.Lowest average was 27KMPL.

If the ZMA is well maintained, go for it. But do remember, spares cost a bomb and if you also are planning to replace the plastics, it might cost you upwards of 7k. Inspite of the rising prices of petrol, mileage would be the last thing to bother about in this specific case.
