  • NOt able to do carb tuning

Good day to all.I 've spent my whole sunday(washing, cleaning plugs, chain, air filter, etc,) on my bike(Pulsar 150 UG2) but till evening my bike is not getting tuned.I'm using the tachometer for this, but I suspect if it's giving me wrong reading.
after setting the idle screw at any rpm,the fuel screw is not giving any response.I mean the bike is not dying even if i tight the fuel screw to the last.
started with 3000,checked at 4k,5k,2.5k.the engine never dies even if i screw in clockwise direction till last.
please help me so that i can have a sound sleep after a good ride.right now im just crazy coz of this poor tuning.

don't you remember the last known good configuration, it is always good to remember how many turns you keep of fuel screw, btw, why were you trying to tune the carb, was there any problem.pulsar manual says to keep the fuel screw at 2.5 to 4.0 turns, i usually keep it at 5.75 turns, it works for me best.

Just warmup the bike engine in morning
Tune your air screw to what is said by prince and then after having set the air screw, just set the idling rpm around 1000-1100
after that have a ride of around 10-15 minutes
Check the engine idling rpm.If it is not around 1400 +/- 100 then set it to that specified idling rpm.You can do this easily since you have a tachometer.

This seems to be a different type of issue with your carburetor, not a tuning problem. Even after fastening the Air screw completely, if the engine does not stall, there definitely is some wierd issue.

          Suggestions anyone???

I m suspecting fuel wax(gunk) to cause this. Have you considered Acetone wash / Fuel line cleaners for your carburetor ?

ya omega man.it was not just tuning issue. My pulsar has done 65k.i really love it and take care as much as i can.As every biker(true biker i mean) im also irritated with A.S.S.I went to the Trivandrum Didi Bajaj service centre which is the only probiking that does NINJA service. And they ve displayed that all of them are trained in Pune.So i gave a try.I gave my bike for nearly 15 days as he(LALU,service adviser) said that if I hurry, job will not be done as i said. I too agreed.after the service I got the bike.bike was not cleaned properly.I didn't say anything. After 150 kms of running it showed signs of poor tuning.I sat, tried on carb.I went to another A.S.S.They opened the cylinder head and said that the cam chain was not set properly and the timing was totally messed up.New plugs gone, should ve affected the cylinder obviously, don't know what else.......Damn ****.i cant show out my frustration here.
I can only say, avoid this A.S.S in trivandrum, kerala. Also said by JAYAMIHAN, LESLIE (fellow xbhpians). What else we can do??

I think we should start a thread saying A.S.S to be avoided in kerala and people in it.Isn't?
