  • Urgent help for Pulsar 180 UG2

Hi Guys, need to make some mods on my Pulsar 180 ug2. No hardcore performance mods or shiny/tacky cosmetic mods for me!!

It's in a pretty bad shape (bought in 2005), so basically have to make it driveabe again!

    1. Have to change the tyres. Sticking to the stock zappers as of now. Rear - 100/90 - 17 - Stickin to stock size.
    Front - 2.75 - 17
Can I put 80/90 or 90/90 Zappers on the front? I guess they are approximately the same size as the stock. How would they impact the handling/driveability, etc?

    2. My bike just doesn't lean or turn without wobbling! I guess its a issue with the cone set/ forks. Will have to get them checked. Any other things that i should check?

Apart from that, are the pulsar 135's clip-ons a direct fit? Am thinkin of gettin the clip-ons fitted. Any ideas on how much they cost approx. would be welcome!

i have an R15 front Zapper on my UGIII.

highly recommended. all you'll need to do is add-on a tubeless valve for ur UGII rim.

      - have you replaced your rear suspension since you bought the bike?
      - chain & sprockets?
      - swing-arm bush... changed?
      - clutch plates... replaced?

yes, you can, 80/90 tyre will be low profile tyre like R15 front tyre, so you have to keep some additional air in it to prevent it hitting the rims in pothole. 90/90 is ok

yes, you are right, but uneven tyre wear also sometimes cause wobbling problems.

First and foremost get ur front fork as well as rear suspensions checked.
Get ur cylinder kit cleaned of the carbon deposit.
          change the spark plugs,valve springs,etc....
          change the clutch plates.
          get the chain set replaced.
the tyres should not be an issue
u cant put the clipons from the pulsar 135..u wud hav to change the entire fork
instead u can get aftermarket clipons for 500-100 bux in the local parts market...they fit directly and are pretty good...(hav them on my pulsar 150 classic)

@Xionite, Princesirohi & Revvhard: Thanks for the replies guys!

@Xionite: No, the suspension has not been replaced. The chain, sprockets & clutch plates have been replaced about 7-8 months back. I guess the suspension gas can be refilled or somethin like that?

yes, the rear shock absorbers can be refilled with gas or air, usually service center have a hand pump which pumps in air and not nitrogen. but it all depends on teh mechanic, only very few good mechanics can actually refill gas properly. and even if you refill it, it seldom hold pressure, because - by the time your shock absorbers need refill, its rubber gasket is already worn out.

So I should look at replacing the entire rear shock absorber assembly?!

I dont want to spend any big bucks on the stupid bike

u can try filling them in. there won't be much of an improvement tho.

if your suspension is 6 years old... it needs to be replaced.

will cost you about 1600 bucks.

                    Oh...1600 seems reasonable! Thnx.

Can you tell me how much the zappers cost approx.? The stock ones. I would be goin in the evening to get them, so don't want to be rippped by the dealer.
