RTR 180 front & rear disk setup on Pulsar 180?

  • RTR 180 front & rear disk setup on Pulsar 180?

    Hi Guys, I have a pulsar 180 UG 2. I have searched the forum but could not find anythin specific to my query. So, here I go:

    1. Can the RTR 180's brakes (front & rear disk) be fitted onto the pulsar?
    2. If yes, would it involve changing the swingarm, etc for the rear?
    3. For the front, can the disk calliper/pads be mounted on the existing forks or I would have to get thr RTR's forks too?
    4. Lastly, how much would it cost approx for the front + rear disks?

    Any help/info is welcome!

          yes it is possible but its a very costly job...........

            In simple terms it's a big NO! Both from the safety POV, efficiency and money spent. The mounting points of the brake assembly on both the bikes might differ (I have'nt compared both but its obvious.).

                That is why I pust up the query for experts here to shed some light on! I also think the mounting point probably differ, hence wanted to know if it has been done/ how much time & effort it would cost & the technicalities involved.

                Reason is simple bro, just better braking power/feel. Look at it this way,
                1. the front disc can probably be swapped with the RTR or a better aftermarket disc or bigger 260 disk from new 180 itself (with some minor modifications/rim change, etc).
                2. All I am trying to research is, how much of an added effort/cost is adding the rear disc!

                Now can you guys pitch in with some more details?

                [P.S] It not for show/looks. I want to keep the structural integrity of the bike intact, while adding better brakes. So any suggestions wiht reasoning is welcome (and if the cost is not prohibitive, like more that 20k or something)

                  Changing the front disc to bigger ones is not going to make a world of changes in braking bro. Pulsar has got very good bite in front disc. For rear wheel you can swap the swing arm and rear wheel with P220's parts. Contact dual disc 200 , he has done the same mod in his p200, he will give you exact figures on cost. Totally might come around 6k i guess.

                  Finally if you want some serious improvements in braking then get a good set of soft compound tires..

                    new disk's for p150

                    hey few days back i was also thinking of getting rear disk system installed on my fz16 so i did some research and found some links and contacts so here it is

                    1 yes it can be done you can get almost any rear disk break system available in the indian market installed to your bick .

                    2 i don't know much about the front disk break but i think you can upgrade your current disk plate to a bigger on

                    3 it will cast you some where around 6 to 7k for the rear disk system and 2 to 3k for a bigger disk plate

                    ( i am new to xbhp and really don't think i can advise some one on bikes i am just trying my best to help a fellow member.All fellow members please correct me if i am wrong )

                      you should be lookin at a cost of around rs.10000 because along with changing the alloy wheels to ones which accommodate disc at the rear u may also have to modify ur bikes swingarm.....where are u from?? if you are from pune head to nanapeth for any such work.....
