  • bike chokes at 6500 rpm,help

    hi,

i am new to xbhp, and hoping to get some help.

i have a Honda unicorn older version done around 50k km.
still the engine is smooth n the pickup is crisp.

sometime back 3rd gear wore out and i had to replace it.
and for that the entire gear assembly had to be dismantled,

the gear was replaced successfully and there are no problems regarding it.

but form then on while riding,,when i reach around 6,500 rpm,,bike chokes as if its out of fuel and picks up speed again.(this is scary while overtaking).

when i consulted with my mech he suggested to change the spark plugs, sprocket and chain and related rubbers. even after changing the problem persists.

    kindly help.

Did you checked your bikes airfilter? A clogged airfilter can cause this issue.

As your bike is 50k,there might be dirt in the carburetor, just my guess, get the carburetor cleaned from Authorized Service Center and see what happens,Remember playing with carburetor is not an easy task,Do it @ svc.

Its definately a fuel supply issue .. inside the carb.. either with the main jet or pilot jet.. check the air fuel ratio.. also is the engine getting too hot ? what is the RPM to speed ratio like .. do you feel RPM's are increasing fast and speed is not ?
