You simply need to get the bike transferred to your name. I think the RC book and insurance are good enough. You just need to fill up some forms (Form 28,29,30) for the vehicle ownership transfer and apply for a bike transfer in the local RTO where the bike is registered.

You will need the current owner's signature on the RTO forms. You can get it transferred yourself and need not approach any "agents" who charge money unnecessarily. Since your father is a cop himself, I'm sure you can find some contacts in the local RTO office who will gladly transfer the bike in your name.

While riding, you need to carry the RC book/card, insurance policy copy, DL, PUC card. No cop will even be able to stop you if you have all these documents with you.

      Ride safe
Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)
