  • Pulsar 200 Servicing

    Hi Guys,

    Hope you all are good.

I own a modified P200 for almost 3 years now. Recently I have been to a Bajaj Service center work shop where one of friend recently joined as Service Engineer. I noticed that the all the Service center guys do in servicing is " Delocating the rear wheel, fixing the brakes, adjusting the chain , Cleaning the carburator and Oil filer, Adjusting the Clutch and washing"

My P200 has become slightly sluggish in the last 1 year. Thus I need your confirmation if this is sufficient for a P200, If not what are the other things that you guys suggest to maintain the bike perfectly in a long run...

    Thanks in advance......Take care

        Pulsar 200 Servicing

I had changed the oil myslef last month as I have modified the bike and its not easy to change the oil due to its fairing.

        I am based in Hyderabad.

Even I was surprised that the mechanic has not done anything great while servicing and just sticked to the basics. When I questioned him and my friend about this. They told me that " My bike is in good condition and does not require anything else". I am sure that they have been doing the same since the last 3 years....

Please suggest what else should be done during servicing as my bike is really old now....

how old is your bike in terms of kilometres? Did you checked the condition of clutch plates? When they were changed last time?

I must have touched 20k. My speedo is not working for almost 10 months now. Last distance recorded was 12169 km during Nov last Year.

NO I have never changed my Clutch plates...

              -Check Clutch Cable
              -Check you Disk pads

Follow the List provided by RanjithMN .
most bike's clutch plates needs replacement between
                20k-30k.
And also get your odo working. Its very important to gauge the life of any bike and its parts.

                      Battery Charging

                      Hi Guyzz,

What do u think about charging the battery. How frequently should it be charged for a Pulsar 200......

After expiry of warrenty period of battery, get it charged every year once before the starting of winters.
Btw, its only for peace of mind and extending battery life by around 2yrs.
