  • Strange noise from crank case in first gear

Bike TVS Victor GLX 125 90,000 kms done in 6 years

Past 6 months one strange noise I am getting

With a well heated engine and in congested traffic and in first gear only I get this problem.
In congested traffic nearby signal where I am stopped,my bike is running in idle, now when signal is green,I apply first gear and start moving by releasing clutch, there is a strange screeching noise coming from the crank.I think that some metal is brushing against other. But when I raise the throttle and starts releasing the clutch, this sound goes off and everything is normal.
And when this brushing sound comes,my bike feels powerless but after raising throttle, everything is fine

My engine oil level is normal and even after 2000 kms,oil level is same at the time of filling fresh oil hence no oil consumption.
My spark plug tip is light brown and dry but not whitish
No tic tic sound of tappet.Tappet setting is also fine
Engine is recently rebored by 1 mm hence the bike is 132 cc now(but this problem was coming before reboring done)
Top speed of this bike I got was around 110 to 115 kph and very comfortable to drive around speed of 80 to 90.
Mileage also I get around 65 kmpl inspite of reboring to 132 cc

But only one thing worries me is the strange brushing sound in first gear,in congested traffic when engine is heated

        No
My bike is a kick start bike.
in Morning when I start there is no problem at all.
Problem comes only when I ride for more than 10 kms in city traffic with congested traffic during any time.
When I leave the clutch very fast, bike jerks in 1st gear(quite obvious) but this metal brushing noise doesnt come. But when I release clutch normally according to raising throttle which is the basic principle of riding any geared bike, this metal brushing sound comes.
Because in congested traffic,in first gear when you release clutch and the stationary bike moves ahead but again you apply gentle brake, pull clutch and again release brake and clutch again in few seconds ,when the traffic is moving very very slowly,if I release clutch, raise throttle gently and begin to move, this brushing sound from crank comes. But this sound comes only when engine is warm/heated.
I tried telling this to a mechanic but any mechanic in this world wants a reason for opening the engine,be it a minor cause

I am not able to come to a conclusion that what is actually causing a problem. Some mechanic says that you need to open engine and change bearings, some mechanic says no need to open engine just he will change to some higher grade engine oil next time, some mechanic tells that he will adjust clutch settings and check.I tried higher grade oils also but no use.

                One more problem
                Help needed
Recently I checked smoke coming from silencer of bike, oil level also decreased to normal to low level in 1000-1200 kms of oil change

But surprisingly The spark plug is dry(even after 1500 kms).
Absoloutely no burnt oil deposits on spark plugs. Also no leakage of oil from anywhere.

From silencer,I can see smoke coming out once I kick start the bike in morning. There is too much smoke(Like a 2 stroke autorickshaw) for around 30 seconds but thereafter the smoke decreases and once the bike is in motion then no smoke.
Since the spark plug is dry hence I dont think that it is problem of piston
hence I think that there is a problem of valve
But still one thing troubles me is that if either the valve or piston is the problem then the oil deposits must be there on the spark plug. But you dont find any.But still oil level is decreasing,
My spark plug tip is light brown in color and dry and I get mileage around 60 on highways

Any possible reasons from where the oil can get burnt

I too have the same engine noise problem in my rx 135 also, after riding for an hour i get this problem, engine vibrates, no power at all, less mileage(30kmpl), engine oil reduces. the spark plug seems to be dry.

I think your piston rings need replacement!.

You mean to say it starts & runs ok in the beginning of a run ? What gear-oil & 2T are you using ? Mixing 2T directly in the oil (pre-mix) or in 2T-tank ? Cleaned (decarbed) the exhaust recently ? Any mods done on the bike before this problem cropped up ?
I have this blasted bike too n love it .

No no aneesh ... worn piston rings would certainly leave a oily sooty spark plug . The symptoms are of an overheating engine , but we can't tell why that's happening from here without more detailed info .

                              Oil coming out of exhaust

Nowadays one more strange problem with my bike

The spark plug of my bike is completely dry and the tip little bit whitish in color even if opened after 2000 kms running and just 400 ml oil left at the time of oil change.I still get mileage of 65 kmpl for my rebored bike TVS GLX(132 cc 1 mm oversize piston)

it emits too much smoke when I kick start the bike in morning.A diesel rickshaw is better in terms of smoke emission but later there is very less or no smoke after driving for around 10-15 kms.

Secondly I see that oil directly comes out of exhaust.

I also changed the crankcase breather pipe, also added some engine oil treatment along with oil but still no clue.

The mechanic suggests me to open the block-piston and replace it.But so far I know if there is no burnt oil left on spark plug then there is no problem with piston rings but no mechanic listens.
Also if engine valves are worn out,the oil will burn in cylinder and the spark plug will be sooty and oily.

Hence I suppose that Block piston ,rings and valves are ok.

I still cant understand how the oil directly comes out of exhaust.
and this oil in exhaust burns and emit smoke for a longer time.

Is there any solution for this or should the engine be opened?
