    Hero Honda Hunk Chain issue

    Hi,
    After asking the nearby Authorised HHSC and other local mechanics, I cannot find a solution to my problem which goes like this.
    Model: Hero Honda Hunk 2009
    Kms done: 11069
    Bike was ridden in as normally as possible (Never crossed 50KMPH in the first 4000 kms).
    Problem: The chain showed uneven tension at 4000 kms and I contacted the authorised HH service center where after an inspection and some cleaning which took 5 hours, they said the bike was ok. Its was also said that the problem was common with 80% of the bikes that they had there for service and I shouldn't worry. (Also added that the warranty does not apply for chain n sprocket). So, I took the bike back, still having the problem and after completing 11000 kms (checkin the chain issue and makin adjustments periodically) I decided to change the chain and sprocket. Well, I changed it and much to my disappointment, the issue persists. The chain still has uneven tension when rotated. Now the mechanic blames the length of the chain which i believe is stupid.
    Any ideas as to what should be done to resolve this issue?

      BTW, my friend's Karizma ZMR (Feb 2010, 16K Kms ) too is having the same issue. He is confused as to what to do with the kind of result I got.

        I have observed this too on my friends bike, but mechanics suggestion of chain length is also somewhat logical. removing couple of links might help, though my friend has tightened his rear wheel to max distance.
        Safe riding prolongs life (bike & rider & public)

          Yes,Removing links is the best way but its done only on worned sprockets and chain because of its wear and no need to done it in a new set of chain and sprockets.Had removed one or two links on my friends hunk and now its running fine.

          @ anitn

          make sure that the bolts at the rear end of the swingarm is tight.It may also cause this problem!

            Misalingment of rear wheel can also be the reason.
            Get it checked.

              @ Aneesh@4GHz ... By "bolts at the rear end of the swingarm", you mean the ones used to change the chain tension. right? Checked that while I changed the chain and sprocket. Thats OK.
              @ Honda_CBF Wheel alignment?.. The axle is bolted equally (Using the notches as reference) on both sides. Checked that too.
              Thanks for the response. Appreciate that. Planning to take my bike to another service center on SAT (This will be the 3'rd HHSC). Hope I get lucky. Praying!!!
              P.S: And my Mechanic, by blaming the chain length, meant to say that since Hunk, CBZ and Unicorn uses the longest chain among bikes in India (dunno if this is true either), this issue is natural. I felt that this was stupid as I don't think that HH and Honda manufacturers are stupid to launch a product with such issues.

                  You are partially right in assuming this. But, given the common irritating issues in Indian makes of large brands, nagging issues like this do crop up with out shame. Companies do not take this on forefront cause its not a premium market, but large average consumer market with least demands. Best option would be to take it to a A.S.S and ask them to clear this, if things don't work out, escalate this issue to right authority and do keep us posted on your progress with this to benefit larger audience and future references. cheers.
