  • bike transfer from hyd to pune!

    Hi,
I am transferring my bike to Pune from Hyd.I have gone through the forums and some teambhp forums. They say road tax & sales tax are necessary. But didnt get clarity on re-registration and sales tax. Some say for bikes purchased less than 30 months old need to pay salestax! My bike was registered in AP,June 2010.I gonna stay more than 2yrs in Pune.
    My queries are
1)Paying road tax would be enough or i have to re-register once again my bike from AP to MH?
2)Do i have to pay sales tax?
It would be a great help to find a solution from bhpians!
    thanks and regards,
    akhil

@Akhil- Hey, one of my friend got his bike transferred and as per his knowledge he didnt have to pay any sales tax...I guess the road tax would be the thing to look for, not sure though. Hope this helps.

Sales tax not required. You'd need to get an NOC from the Hyd. RTA and then you need to pay the Road tax in Pune for the re-registration. You can normally ride the bike for 1 yr without any issues. Second year, you can probably manage, rather than go through all the hassles.

          thank you for reply sandeep_141,Guru_DTSi!

I am in the process of getting NOC from hyd.
          Is it compulsory to re-register?
Generally Pune traffic police will be asking for AP registered bike
          -RC (registration)
          -PUC (pollution)
          -Driving license
          -Insurance
          -road tax
          anything else?(Dont say money!)____________________________
          PS:-
any decent localities to stay with cheap & Best rent?
how to find vacant rooms or individual houses?
          Thanks & regards

I did hear from a friend who had moved to Bengaluru from Hyd. that he didn't have to bother about registration and stuff. Just took the bike over and used it for almost a year and a half without any trouble. But yeah, once a cop stops you, it all depends on his mood and your luck whether you have to pay money (bribe/challan). Best place for Pune would be the place near your office/college. Roads and traffic, I heard, are terrible in Pune. Once you get the NOC, check with the Pune RTA, they should be able to help you better.

Either ways, just ensure that the bike has adequate packing done. Scratches would depend on your luck.

Went to cyberabad P.S for NOC.
The option given by the receptionist are
1)NOC will be sent after 15days through post
2)1 day for this he is demanding 400 rupees.
                  any suggestions?

I had to transfer my bike,an RTR 160,multiple times from U.P to Hyderabad over the last 3 years.I've found that after adequate packing,
1.It's cheaper and better to transport via Railways if there is a direct train running between the two stations. My bike always arrived without scratches or dents .
Book the bike not as cargo but as an additional luggage with your own ticket- get a friend to help load the bike in the goods' bogie next to the guard's van.Otherwise they will let it stand on the platform for ages.

                    2. I used GATI courier twice - not satisfactory - although they picked up the bike from my house - broken windshield twice by placing other cartons on top of the bike.

                    Any other queries are welcome.

Didn't you mention Anna Hazare ??
Depends on what your requirement is. If you need it soon, pay him and get over with it.

If you book it along with your own train ticket - the total cost will be around Rs.2500/- ,I think.
You will have to take the bike to the luggage office around 3 hours before the train departs ,get it packed - show them your ticket - fill up a form/pay the booking amount. They will give you a receipt and also make a note on your ticket.Look for the person who loads cargo .
It's always better to have a friend along with you when the train arrives. He will be able to see that the bike is loaded properly while you find your seat.

fare depends upon d BIKE VALUE

no it depends upon d VALUE of d BIKE as on date .

something like if d bike is 1 yr old then take d value of around 35k and they will calculate on that amount how much should be d FARE . ( may be 2 or 3%) of the VALUE ..... that's what i know ... do check again for conformation ......
